Looking for someone to repair my washing machine. Any THFer's or recommendations in the DFW area?

Heard good things about this guy on Nextdoor - TJ's Appliance Repair 817 343-3959. I'm calling later in the week myself.

If you have any mechanical aptitude, Google your machine and whatever it's doing and there's probably a YouTube video telling you how to fix it. I fixed mine and several for other people, and I am in no way a washing machine expert, but I can watch me some YouTube and follow instructions LOL

Another vote for Youtube. Watch multiple videos, if I can fix appliances, anyone can. Also read the comments, I have picked up tips and tricks from them.

I fixed mine using Youtube until the parts and complexity went beyond my ability.

The repair part was 60% of the cost of a new washer, so we bought a new one (3 years ago, replaced a 12 year old unit). The new ones are awesome. Fast wash and fast dry. Just an FYI.

Our 11 year old Samsung front loader bit the dust last year. Looked at Youtube and realized I didn't want to tackle it. Bought a new top loader and am good with it. My Samsung refer needs attention but after watching the video I'm afraid of screwing that repair up. With refer prices now, I'll call the man.

Same here, fixed washer first time via YouTube, then dryer broke. Youtubed that one. Realized way to in-depth and ended up just buying new dryer

That's my problem, no mechanical ability whatsoever. If I try to fix it myself, I'll wind up paying someone who knows what they're doing extra to fix up what I fouled up, plus the original problem. It's a 22 year old Kenmore leaking out the bottom, The hose and drain connections are good.

Would be a no brainer if you could reasonably expect to get 22 years out of the new one...sadly, probably not going to happen.

Flip it over take cover off and follow it up. Best case it's split line or fitting(epoxy it)... Worst case the inner tub. If Tub get a new one.

My sentiments exactly. The reviews are horrible on the new digital machines.

I hear Speed Queen still makes a good mechanical washer and dryer.

$1,099 on Amazon. Wish I would have seen this before I bought last year.

They make the commercial. I will never buy a front loader. Most of the problems seem to be with the front loading machines.

Yep. Cheaper to replace it.

We had front loaders. Wife hated them, though they did hold up for over a decade. We gave them away and got Speed Queen commercial washer and dryer. Mighty expensive, but the wife is happy.

Out in the barn we have a washer and dryer that belonged to her mother. They have to be well over 20 years old, and maybe 25. Still running, though I did have to repair the dryer once.
