So who here only bow hunts? Who is going to start this year?

This will be my first year to bow hunt. I am going to try to hunt with the bow most of the season, but when I take my 4 YO grandson, I will have to hunt the blind, which in turn will require a rifle. If the weather is real crappie, I'm sorry I will have to resort back to the blind, I don't think I can shot a bow, wet, cold and shaking.

I would like to eventually get to that point. Just not there quite yet. Maybe on a better lease, but the one I am on right now bow range deer are few and far between.

i bowhunt unless its really cold or rainin. if i am real tired then i am sleepin in the blind with a rifle.

As of 2000 all I can legally do is Bow hunt. But I have bow hunted as far back as I can remember.Just about all my cousins on my dads side bow hunt.But now I'm learning how to hunt game birds with a bow. Not as easy as it seems. I kind of miss waterfowl and dove hunting with a shotgun. ( We have dogs,retrivers). But if you break a law here in the great state of Texas you cant carry nor hunt nor just have a firearm.But I respect it, Thats why I strictly bow hunt year round.You can catch me out in the woods with nothing but my BowTech Tribute and my Kershaw interchangable blade set.

wow i guess you have a felony. i never thought of that. you can only bowhunt. that makes me want to go commit a crime so i have to bowhunt...brb.....lol

More then likely he hunts on a "dont ask dont tell" policy.All my buddies tell me that 9 times out of 10 the GW is just checking to make sure you have your tags and whatnot and only if your causing trouble that they will run your name.I just as well obey the law as it is. I have land to bow hunt and I enjoy year round hunting anyway.And to be honest,I do miss rifle hunting, but I could never let go of Bow Hunting. So it suits me just fine.

Bowstalker, good for you never give up! I'm 42 been bow hunting since I went to a garage sell in San Antone when I was 14..teaching my kids archery too,the basic skills and fundamentals and woodsmanship like 'THE OLDEN DAYS'!! Don't let anyone keep you from the outdoors!!

I hunt exclusively with a bow. My son, age 21, has never hunted deer with anything but a bow ever since he was 15, his first season to hunt, and he took a doe ten minutes after climbing into the stand. He was hooked. We bought him a black powder gun to give him another option. We'll see if he folds this year!

I bowhunt until gun season, then I gun hunt. Since I hunt mainly in Arkansas on family land, I get an additional two months of bowhunting in January and February.

It's funny that I killed three deer last year; one with a bow and two with a rifle and my long shot was 24 yards...with a bow.

I may have to re-think gun hunting, but I'm not entirely ready to give it up.

THIS IS ALSO MY FIRST SEASON BOW HUNTING. I THINK THE MAJORITY OF THE SEASON WILL BE SPENT WITH A BOW.

After I shot my first deer with a bow I have not been able to go back to rifle hunting. Just not the same. I only deer hunt with a bow.

I have been bowhunting "only" for about 12 years. Gun hunting just don't do it for me anymore.
Got a small lease along Buck Creek on lake Ray Roberts in an archery only county and I love it

Hunt for the rush of a bow kill with my recurve or lomgbow!! Start on hogs in Sept. work on deer from Oct. to Jan. then go to N.M. late mule deer season in Jan. then hunt hogs until it starts getting hot in May. Once you give up the mentality of if I had a gun I could have shot that monster at 75 yards and think along the lines of get closer and pattern the animal it becomes more of a hunt with great rewards. You know that I will only have my bow in my hand. Just way too much fun and a lot bigger rush with a bow.

I started bow hunting 20 years ago and in that time I've actually taken my Browning A-Bolt out of the gun cabinet one time ( felt like I was cheating)Nothing but the mystical flight of the arrow for this white boy!

I've been going back and forth but last year never took the gun out of the case! I'm addicted to the bow!

Sept. 30 to Feb 28 or when I fill all my deer tags which ever comes 1st!!!!!!!!!!!

I will more than likely bow hunt all season due to the fact that I am hunting Lake Whitney Corps. land. The only exception is when I go with a friend of mine to Uvalde; I might get the gun out then, or may try to hunt with my .44 just to change things up a bit.

Like some of the other guys here, I am junkie for bow huning. After shooting my first deer with a bow, I never want to pick up the rifle again! During the off season I shoot Squirels around the house, keep in check

I had a friend tell me last year that youcouldnt hunt all season with a bow. Is this true. Judging by all the chatter he was wrong. Can anyone veryfy this.
