I got my notice of selection on the Exotic bowhunt at Kerr WMA. Anyone know what kind of exotics they have on Kerr WMA?
I had heard they had sika/axis/fallow deer and aoudad but not sure about the numbers. Do they just have a few or is there pretty good densities? Also, if anyone did this hunt last year, or has experience hunting the exotics listed above, I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks in advance for your help!

Congratulations on being drawn for the Kerr hunt. I have taken both Sika and Axis on a private ranch very near the Kerr WMA. I was out in the area again earlier this summer and stopped by the Kerr WMA a few times just to do some spotting. At that time, I did not see anything except a few white tails but I have seen Axis in the area many times and fallow on a few occasions. While there certainly are "native" populations of each of the animals you mentioned, my personal experience would indicate that there are significantly higher numbers of axis compared to the sika or fallow deer. I'm sure you noticed from the application packet information that the hunter success ratio for archery exotics on the Kerr WMA is only 12%. Good luck to you and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the input AGray. Actually, I think the hunter success for last year was 2%. Even with that, I'm going to blow some vacation time and money for hotel/gas.

I was drawn too. I'm renting a shelter at MO Ranch for 2 nights. It's 60 a night and it's right across from Kerr WMA. Want to go in half on it? Shot me an email
