Please give me your opinion of what is a good chrono, I have never used one and have been around VERY FEW. Prefer not to have to morgage the house to buy one. Thanks Daniel

I personally use two separate ones, a Magnetospeed V3 for AR pattern rifles allowing to shoot multiple targets without having to walk several hundred yards to change them. I dont use the magnetospeed on small taper barrels due to harmonics and POI shift. and a Competition Electronics prochrono for bolt action, handgun, shotgun, and archery, main downside to the Prochrono is the small shooting window and the amount of set up time to line up target to shooting position.

"If you just need it for short term use you can use one of mine. I’m not far down the road."
Thanks 75169 but I would be afraid of shooting it and if anyone can, I am the one!!!! Daniel

Magnetospeed and LabRadar give good numbers.
I don't want anything attached to the muzzle during load development, so I don't use it while testing charges.
Need to buy a LabRadar and be done with it.

A few decades ago I purchased a Oehler when my local gun club did a group purchase. After many years it finally started to get picky about reading shots and got to be more trouble than it was worth. At that time Oehler had gotten out of selling to the public for a couple of years. Then I purchase a Competition Electronics and everything was fine. I even set a base in concrete out front of my shooting bench so I wouldn't have to align the unit each time I wanted to use it. I could just plop it on the stand and it would line up to my 100 yard target. About two years ago I picked up a LabRadar and have been a happy camper since! I can set it on the shooting bench, get instant results AND have the data retained on a disk to be printed out once I got back to my desk. I can now go from one string of shots to the next with just a push of a couple of buttons and I don't have to write anything down while I'm shooting. Set up is almost too easy. It cost more, but like a lot of things, the pain of original cost wanes over time.

Lab radar is by far the most convenient, I had one and used it for a while, sold it because it was sitting..
I’ll buy another one

speaking of second mortgage's More than one rifle, No Magneto shooting off bench all by yourself and rich, LabRadar All other, you can't beat the Pro Chrono with Bluetooth. Perfect unless you're a dumbazz and shoot the damm thing. Just take your time setting and lining it up. I've used one for 20+ years and have NEVER shot it YET

If you just use it occasionally Magneto is fine. If you use it often LabRadar is the answer. I have used most of them since 1980 when I bought my first one. If my LabRadar quits it will get fixed or I’ll buy another.
