I’ve been looking at the Pelican travel cases. Only thing I don’t like is the hard foam to cut out. I travel once a year with my shotgun and once a year with my rifle. I’d like to use the same case and just have the old school egg crate foam so I don’t need the cutouts and can put whatever I want in the case. Can I order those cases with that type foam? I’ve been using a friends case that has the the egg crate foam.
Any suggestions?

Do this. Egg crate is ghetto compared to cut to fit.

I've done both... have the egg carton for when i throw unique items in. Also have a section with the foam cutout. Keep the cutout piece and save it. Put it back into the cutout and then move that to lowest layer. It gives you a little more flexibility.
But the egg carton gets the most use.
