How easy is it to cut one's own window sliders from the 1/8" acrylic plastic sheets they sell at Home Depot or Lowes?

I have not had the best success cutting plexiglass. We have a Lowes and Home Depot, Lowes always has the best selection and will cut to size for a reasonable fee. They also have some 8' plastic trim that the plexiglass will fit in. I cut the trim to size and use it as frame for the plexiglass. Put mine in a deer blind for the windows. The friction holds the plexiglass in place when the window is up.

Most all my blinds have the sliding plexiglass windows. I cut the material on my table saw, and do it very carefully. After a few poorly thought out attempts resulting in shrapnel, I refined my technique. I have a thin sheet of plywood below the plexiglass and a thin sheet above. The saw blade is raised enough to cut through the lower plywood and plexiglass and lightly into, but not through, the upper plywood. Works great, but of course a table saw is needed.
I’m about 120 miles south of you. Bring plexiglass and measurements and we can cut what you need.

I use an air powered die grinder with a cut off wheel

Look on Amazon. I found pre-cut plexiglass to make sliding windows for our blinds at a fraction of what Home Depot and others wanted. I used Z bar strips to make the frames.
Safe hunting
