Sitting here at my rear window, overlooking the rear patio, watching the winter tactics of our Cardinal family (They really don't like other birds),. glancing at the light snow , making me think of the winters in Minn. , when spiked tires, snow chains were the normal (not, forgetting the rope strung from the house to the outhouse) then unto Korea, where it was always cold.
Working for my Father doing ceilings in commercial (open) buildings in the winter, trying to use water levels , Now just sitting here in a nice warm room, enjoying. Life has had its difficult times, However its been a hell of a ride!

Note: Did I mention? I ABSOLUTELY HATE COLD AND SNOW!

The neighbor across the road out at the ranch sent me a picture yesterday of my entrance in the snow. He was walking around. I was stuck out there for 9 days last year. That crap's for the birds!

He wants to meet and "discuss" my deer season. I'm gonna bet he wants to do a group MLD thing. I do my own thing, on my own. Why do neighbors always want something and especially want to tell you what to do? 'Wish I was more of "a people person."

Man, ya got me with the thing about the rope to the outhouse. Thank goodness that sort of thing isn’t the norm any more.

As an aside, I have an outhouse that any of you can have. Just come get it. The previous owner, or the guy before him, had an outhouse. Somebody moved it to the woods for use as a deer blind. It’s a one-holer, and in decent shape. Think of the nostalgia benefits…

My mom had pics of the tunnels from house to house in Newfoundland when the snow was higher that the 2nd story roofs.

Reminded me, when going to Dist #20 1 room 7 grade school in 1941, If we got to school after the snow plow went by, we had to tunnel into the front door. Winters were tough in Minnesota.
