Golf carts are a terrible idea LOL, maybe for your purposes but certainly not everyone's. Mine works great for what I bought & fixed it up for. Depends on where you're at and what you're doing with it. Just another tool in the box. I've got a Ranger, a 4 wheeler, and an electric buggy. They all serve their purpose for me. Haha! Unless the 450 acres he hunts have paved roads or at minimum improved and leveled pastures, that cart is going to beat him up. I putt around in my ranger all the time, other guys on the lease don't hear me unless it's a perfectly calm night, and my back says " Thank you, Jesus"! I will agree to different tools to different tasks though.

1,000 pound payload, an unloaded weight of nearly 1,800 pounds and comes standard with 4 ply tires. Oh joy.

Check out the new Ranger Kinetic XP.....110 HP, 80 mile range, almost $30k! And apparently all sold out.... https://ranger.polaris.com/en-us/ranger-xp-kinetic/I do like the looks of that Ranger EV...might be a solid replacement for my Bad Boy.

I'm definitely digging that. Lithium is the way to go. Not really digging the price tag, though.

Cart will work for you. I'd get it lifted with larger wheels and tires.
Gas engine is actually less maintenance than batteries but if you want quiet......battery.

I own and run both. Can't beat the electric for stealth. On a property <1,500 acres with modest terrain (no deep mud) AND reliable power they are the way to go. BUT to make the cart reliable and comfortable really need to invest in a long travel suspension kit, larger controller, heavier battery cables, etc. My electric could haul 2 men, 500lb of feed, and climb hills with ease. And we'd sneak right up on animals. All that said, the Ranger stays at the deer lease now for two main reasons: a) last season we lost power out there 3 times. An electric is quite literally dead in the water if you can't charge it. b) when we get rain out there the roads turn to mud. Mud will sap the an electric's power very quickly. Just wasn't worth the gains in stealth to deal with the above headaches. Now I just park further away and walk in.

For the price they are getting today for the gas UTVs, it should be as quiet as any auto. Open the hood of truck, car and see how much noise they make? Better mufflers would be a good start. UTV companies don't make them to be quiet and will not till the consumer requires it.

That Ranger would serve you in the mountains if you ever decide to come out west and try a hunt, the golf cart not so much.
