CFEBLK and the 125's are on my radar. I haven't done any load development with that combination but I do have plans for it.
In the mean time, I am going to do some fire-forming using Shooters World Blackout with the 125 TNT to see how it compares to AA1680. What I do not like about AA1680 is it very dirty. I did a quick burn test today and determined SW Blackout has a much cleaner burn than AA1680 so I maybe moving away from 1680 in favor of the SW Blackout if they have comparable performance. My grouping with 1680 while fire-forming was actually pretty good so we'll see how SW BLK does.
BTW, I previously reported a flyer issue and found the problem was related to not sorting my LC converted brass. 95% was date code 11 but had some 12 and 13 stamped heads intermixed. It's the first time I have done any brass conversions and I did not think about sorting. Now I need to go back and re-due my 130 FNHC and 135 FTX CFEBLK load development but I have a pretty good idea of where to start. Moving forward I am only going to use WC brass for development.
I found another potential issue but don't believe it was impacting my development. I purchased the Lee Pacesetter dies from WC and the bullet seating stem was deforming the tips of my 130 FNHC projectiles. I fixed it my drilling out the center to give the tip a little more room while seating. Worked really well. I also tested the bullet seater from my Hornady 300 Blackout die set with the Lee dies and it worked as well.
Thanks to everyone who provided input on the flyer issue, it was invaluable.... I really like SW Black. It is a bit slower burning than SOCOM and behaves better under compression (doesn't pressure spike as aggressively) and works really well with heavier projectiles. I usually find I can fit 1 - 1.5gn more powder in a case with SW Black over SOCOM. Most of my best blackout loads where with that powder. Isopher, what kind of accuracy results have you been able to get? I haven't experimented with Blackout a lot, but so far it has been harder to find the accuracy sweet spot with compared to CFEBLK. Based on the limited pressure testing we've done, unlike A1680 it seems to be good for velocities almost as high as CFEBLK at similar pressure levels. I find SW Black likes being compressed under heavy bullets and all my best loads where as such. I haven't tried loading any HAM'R yet, but in 300blk I have gotten the Speer 308150BLKGDB to make one ragged hole under 1" at 100 with a 4x optic (when I do my part). I have had several jaws hit the floor when I told them I was shooting 300blk and not some "traditionally accurate" cartridge. The blackout rifle I have has a 14.5" Noveske 1:7 barrel with a Sharps XPB. I will say that I load single stage and am not sure if its suited to progressives as I maintain a powder charge within 0.02gn of my target and drop the charge through a 6" tube to increase density. CFEBLK is easier to load though, recently I put together some rounds with 125TNT, 22.00gn CFEBLK, CCI#41, 2.200 OAL as a random educated guess for a load and they shot just as accurate as my SW Black loads, just a bit slower as there is still a bit of room in the case. The worst part about SW Black is it's lack of availability lately.

Not to snipe the response from Isopher but yesterday was the first time I ever shot SW Blackout in the 300 Ham'r. I was overall very pleased with the results.
The best 5 shot group at 100yds was a 1" group with 25.8 grains of SW Blackout, LC-11 cases and 125 TNT's, 2.265 COAL with Avg FPS of 2408. I did push it up to 26.5 grs with both AA1680 (2442 FPS) and SWB at (2462 FPS) for a 20 FPS faster velocity.
My preliminary conclusion based on one day at the range using the 125 TNT, grain for grain SWB gave me on average about 20 to 30 fps faster velocity than 1680 and better groups. AA1680 was slightly better ES and SD however.
I am also curious to hear from Isopher and his results.
Sorry it must have took me longer to write the response. I now see Isopher responded.

One bad thing about living out in the middle of nowhere is you don't have anyone to brag to. But this thread is as good as any! My hunting partner came over with his Ruger Ranch rifle in .223 so we could do the 300 HAM'R conversion. An hour later we were heading to my range. (Most of that time was just slinging BS back and forth.) Once we had the scope sighted-in, the largest group was 1 1/8" and the smallest measured just a hair over 1/2". OK, we were shooting 3-shot groups but I want to see what this rifle will do after a few rounds go down that barrel.
I will say that I think EVERYONE is going to be happy with the Lehigh 125gr. bullets. Accuracy with the 110gr. CC was just as good. The compact Wilson/Ruger is a deer hunters dream.

I'm still waiting for my conversion barrel, but I was surprised by how accurate the Ruger Ranch rifle was out of the box, mine shoots sub MOA all day. Looking forward to when I can upgrade it to HAM'R

Great thread. Read most of it. I've been interested in the 300 hamr since i first saw it in the nra magazine. Can someone break down the differences between the various model Wilson offers? I read what I could find but had a hard time figuring out the key differences especially break the protector, recon, and tac hunter. Seems like a lot of posters here have been buying the tac hunter. I'd probably use this most for Texas deer and hogs. I had another 556 AR that's probably better suited for tactical things and target shooting. Thanks for any advice.

Look at Barrel length, contour, and overall weight and that will tell the story of differences.

As I get older I prefer short light mild recoil rifles! My overall preference is our Ranger model with forest camo. Examples: Non-suppressed with a light day scope = 18" barrel Suppressed with any optic = 16" barrel Suppressed with heavy optic like thermal absolutely go with the lightweight 16" Ranger profile barrel Keep in mind that we will build the rifle any configuration you want.

Appreciate the advice. Sounds a lot like fishing poles, there's one for every bait.
I don't have a suppressor yet but planning on doing that soon. Seems like 16in barrel is a good place to start.

I LOVE the name ".30-30AR"! But I can see why you went with the "300 HAM’R" name.
This thread has been a pleasure to read, and very informative!

The new 125gr CC bullets went into production yesterday morning, so my guess is that they will be available for retail sales by the end of the month. I've killed something over 70 hogs with them so far and they kill very quickly. Factory loads will be 2440fps from a 18" bbl. loaded with CFEBLK. They also make a great low recoil .308 Win load if loaded to 2500fps. DL I have 3k shipping bulk to me at the ranch so you and Jeremy can have some of these.

not much going on in the way of hog hunting. drought seems to have killed off a lot of them. only seeing small groups near what little water there is. these are 450 yards away. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/02/full-2293-335686-river_hogs.jpg)

just been puddle jumping a few here and there. caught some in cotton stalks and chased after them. one almost made it out but i cut him off in the corner. he stopped when he realized he wasn't going to make it. i was watching with the pvs14, steering with my knees and had the gun out the window. i stopped abruptly when he did and immediately got him in the scope. i couldn't help but think.... it was at this moment he knew... he messed up! ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/02/full-2293-335700-20220122_191003.jpg)

@Wilson Combat This is somewhat off topic.
I really like your Cartridge/Seating gauges for 300hamr and wonder if and where I can get those for other calibers? If you make them in house, would you consider expanding the line to 223, 300blk and 9mm?

As spectacular as it is I'd rather not waste a Ham'r bullet on an armadillo, possum, or raccoon...and even they are getting hard to come by unless you're willing to stay up all night.

I'm looking to jump in with my first 300 HAM'R build. I'm planning on a 16" barrel with a suppressor. Do you think I should use an adjustable gas block, or would it be fine with a simple non-adjustable gas block?
