I’m sure it did on you, but that just doesn’t look like 300 lbs of corn.
To bad that is a deer feeder and deer do not show up to eat all of the corn they can find on the ground there everyday. How much do you think they would eat before they walked away if it ground was covered in corn?

It's funny you ask. I have 4 does that hit this feeder every day and they only eat about as much as they normally do, maybe a little more but pretty close. I still have lots of corn around it. Pigs obviously haven't found it yet.

How many do you think come by after dark to finish off the corn those does don't get? I put out 50# of road corn the other day at a feeder that has a corn feeder and a protein feeder. The deer ate up 40# of the road corn in 2 hrs then left. They came in over night and got the rest plus the feeder pen corn and protein from that night and the next morning. The deer on my place are hungry and don't miss any extra corn...lol.

Yeah and if you were to use free flow instead of a timed protein feeder, your deer would be in better condition.

Who said I don't have free choice?

Somes continually extoll the virtues of timed protein feeders. I just thought you were one of those guys.
I do use timed protein feeders and use them like they are designed to be use to feed year round. But I also feed free choice from the same feed pens with WCS or pellets when it is needed. Do you feed year round? Why not? The deer eat 24/7/365 not 24/7/210.

I bought some of those feeders from Ramball, when i went to set one up it vibrated just as you mentioned. He replaced it no problem for me. I called All Seasons this morning. One of the stand and fill timed protein feeders had an issue during transport, the catch/plunger for the timer box broke and the control box cover came off. Luckily it was still on the trailer and not in the road. Called Jay at ASF and they're sending me a new one. I'll just pop rivet it on. One thing I've noticed lately is some companies really stand behind their products, it never hurts to call/email and state your problem and ask them to make it right.

I have not had good luck with them lately.... for a while, they were the best timer on the market, bar none. Had some issues lately.
Also one thing to remember with them, to accurately check batteries, you must disconnect the solar panel, otherwise you are reading it's ability, not the battery charge.
And on the internal batteries, use high end AA's, not cheap crap.

"Do you feed year round? Why not? The deer eat 24/7/365 not 24/7/210."
This isn't about me.
You might want to quit being so free with judgemental opinions then...just a thought. Your "opinion" seemed pretty confrontational to me - as did your "continually extolling" rebuttal. Just because you have an opinion, which you are clearly entitled to, does not mean that you need to jam it down anothers throat as fact - chill a little and let people do as they please. This plave is supposed to be fun!

I feel your pain. This is clise to 550# minus two days worth of about 30 animals gorging themselves. No hogs here to help clean mine up. "The Timer" strikes again, although it's the first time in 3 years of running 4 of them. I'll keep using them until they make a habit of this.

Man, I've used "The Timer" for years on multiple feeders and never had that issue, but I did run into an interesting issue this past season. I have a 400 lb. Leon Valley feeder that's been super reliable for years. Twice this past season we filled it to the brim, only to find it empty within a week. We fine-tuned the cameras and realized that a boar was getting UNDER it, then arching up and shaking it from underneath and causing corn to spill out of the mechanism. Pretty soon the rest of giant sounder was happily destroying the 400 lbs. of corn and leaving us dry. We ended up welding panels all around it to keep the hogs from getting under it and anchored it down better. We were impressed with the boar's creativity!

LOL.....we had one go bad last year. One of our hunters was just getting out of the blind and decided to try and save the corn. Imagine if you will the hail storm of corn and the man trying to block it with his coat while unscrewing the cover to pull the battery wire.

I have a Timer that wasn’t working. I replaced it with a new one, and looked the old one over carefully. I found a 15 amp fuse in the battery compartment that was burnt in two (the metal element inside). Got a new fuse in it now. I’m going to see this morning if it’ll work Ok when I replace a Wildgame Innovations timer that isn’t throwing.
The questionable Timer is way over 5 years old, so I doubt they’d replace it.
