The feeder at my house dumped on me this morning, and I just put 6 bags in. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/01/full-20641-331847-20220114_125054.jpg)

I've had it happen about 3 times now over the last 20 yrs. It was either low batteries in the timer or the feeder battery that caused the issue IIRC.

When I put the corn in a couple of days ago I noticed the timer was pretty dang warm, too warm. I let it go thinking if it quits I'll notice being as it's at my house. Didn't expect it to dump. Checked the big 12v and it was fine. I had a spare timer so I replaced the bad one.

Are you sure it dumped everything? It doesn't look like 300 lbs on the ground?
Maybe the contacts just hung for a while and then unlatched??
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Maybe the contacts just hung for a while and then unlatched?? It dumped it all, in fact it was still spinning. Went off at 7:15 and spun till about 9 when I got to it. It's being replaced.

I bought a couple of winch up feeders off Craigslist a couple of years ago. One has an old HRC, I think it is, timer. Is that the The Timer predecessor? Dial knob. I keep fresh batteries in it. Dam thing won't quit!

Nice feeder Stompy. Looks like one of Ramballs. Is it? Yes, they're a bit expensive but built like a tank. Are the legs made of angle iron and come straight off the hopper?

Had one do that a couple of years ago after Nephew checked (He can't poor piss out of a boot with directions on the bottom} can't figure out what he did or why it emptied the feeder. Reset it and has never done it again.

I’m sure it did on you, but that just doesn’t look like 300 lbs of corn.

Never had one that went off and kept running but have had them just quit working. But then this season, we had another first time issue. We have an ALL SEASONS FEEDER (stand/fill) that worked flawlessly, but just before bow season started it would not activate at the set times. The feeder was set to feed twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. But it was not going off, either not at all or going off for just one of the set times. We would run the TEST option and it would work just fine!
So, I called Jay at ALL SEASONS FEEDER, and he sent a replacement, since the original timer was still under the 5-year warranty. A funny thing about this deal, I forgot to include my address in the box when I sent in the old timer to get the replacement. The folks at ALL SEASONS looked in their records to find an address and had pulled up my dad's record under the same name; they sent the new feeder timer to that old address. However, my dad passed away 12 years ago, and the last time he had dealt with ALL SEASONS was almost 30 years ago, when he needed a replacement motor! Luckily we were able to get the timer sent to the correct address, and all is well once again.

Great product that consumers can't get enough of, in spite of the fact that, for the individual customer that has to deal with them directly it seems like a circus and the clowns are running the show. Every time I've had to deal with them they are thoroughly confused.

I have carefully calculated the average radius of the Ramball feeder throw and the typical coverage of corn by the square foot and can confidently say that that is only 287 pounds of corn, sir.
Interesting post - I have a 800lb feeder that I found empty recently, which seemed very odd. It is in a new location where I have not yet built a feeder pen so I reasoned that a persistent hog had somehow figured out how to monkey with it to get the corn out - even though it had not been moved.
Put corn back in it and returned the next weekend to find it emptied again...after reading this post it WILL get a new timer.

I put the corn in 2 days before it emptied, when I did I noticed the timer was unusually hot. I figured I'd just wait to see if it went bad on me because it's right behind my house and I see it every day. After it spun out the timer was flashing and buzzing and still spinning.
