I got tired of dealing with 50 lb bags. I have six 600 lb feeders to fill and feed year round. I picked up a pro box. They have a sliding door on the bottom and you can dispense it slowly or quickly and shut it off with ease. In the picture below it has 2,600 lb of corn in it but I think I could get at least 200 lb more in. It does come with a lid so you don’t have to worry about spilling. The local seed store will fill it up for 15 cents a pound. I carried it to the ranch on the bed of my 3/4 ton truck and carted it around with my skid steer. A tractor with a front end loader would work as well. If you have a way to move one of these around it makes life so much easier.

Had friend do that about 20 yrs ago with a round 2000 lb feeder that he converted to a hopper to put protein in his feeders.

Thanks, just found out last week that my feed guy is going to start selling bulk corn, and I have a tractor with pallet forks.

You will love it if you get one. I was nervous about how well the chute would work but you could let it slow enough to fill a five gallon bucket if you wanted or you could open it all the way up and dump all 2500 lbs in about 30 seconds I would guess.
I tore my rotator cuff on Halloween and was really dreading lifting bags to fill the feeders. It was a breeze with this thing. Only thing I would add if you are doing this by yourself is attach a piece of rope or a small chain or something by the chute so you can tell when you are centered over the feeder. It is kind of hard to judge it from the seat and on a tractor with it way in front of you it would be even harder.

Any idea as to what the feed store would charge if they bring corn out in bulk and fill the feeders?

Any idea as to what the feed store would charge if they bring corn out in bulk and fill the feeders? Call L&E in Llano and ask them, they provide that service.
