We arrived on the 11th and will be here until January 11th. Visiting Oak Alley Plantation right now. Been here many times and always have fun. Going to Frenchman street tonight. We had fun in the French Quarter until 2 last night. 🤠Looking forward to seeing the new stuff at the WWII museum. The city is amazing. We love it. Food is awesome. Some of you don’t. We probably will do Mardi Gras sometime. How do you like New Orleans? Enjoying a Zazarac cocktail at the Sazerac lounge in the Roosevelt hotel. Something to check off my list. It was good.

Love visiting NOLA. Right there at the Roosevelt is Domenica. Cannot recommend their pizza enough. Incredible brick oven pizza. I can't imagine being in NOLA for a month, I'd gain 25lbs.

Lived there back in the day. Great fishing and food.

I like the historical areas of N/O.
I suppose an occasional visit to the French Quarter is OK.
But having lived in LaCombe for a couple of years (other side of Lake Ponchartrain) and visited N/O (mostly when friends would come down) I don't care for the City. much. Such a corrupt and decadent place.

I have been there several times. The longest was at an NBAA convention for a little over a week. Bourbon street is interesting to see if you want to see the trash of the Earth and smell the stink. The WW 2 museum is great. Other than that ??

Lived there for 36 years. I do miss my family, my friends, the food, and the fishing. We still go back as our family still reside in the metro area, but we limited out in 2005 with hurricanes. Told the wife after Katrina I was done and couldn't live there any longer. I mean the house I grew up in had 2 foot of water above the peak of the roof. You can get on top of the Super Doom, look to the west bank of New Orleans and see the golf of mexico. Some will argue what you're seeing is Barataria Bay, but to be a bay the body of water needs more land encompassing it. Its all gone. Now with that said, and maybe you don't need this, per your comments I think you're dialed in, but just in case. Things to do in New Orleans: Restaurants: 1. Brennan's 2. Cafe Maspero 3. Commander's Palace Restaurant 4. Cafe du Monde 5. Central grocery 6. Ralph & Kacoo's 7. Deanie's Seafood Restaurant 8. Court of Two Sisters Restaurant 9. Mike's on the Avenue 10. K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen 11. Galatoire's 12. Crescent City Brewhouse 13. Acme Oyster House 14. Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro Things to See At Night: 1. Pat O'Brien's 2. Cat's Meow 3. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville 4. Tipitina's 5. House of Blues 6. Funky Pirate 7. Bourbon Street! 8. Harrah’s Casino Things to See Day: 1. River Walk (closes at 6pm; leave area) 2. Audubon Aquarium of the Americas 3. Cajun Critters Swamp Tours 4. Creole Queen 5. National World War II Museum 6. French Market 7. Royal Carriages, Inc. 8. Street Car Ride 9. Audubon Zoo 10. Oak Alley Plantation 11. Haunted History Tours, Inc. 12. Gallery Bienvenu Tip: If asked to take a bet on someone telling you where you got your shoes at even though they weren’t there when you got’em, just say, “there on my feet!” And move on. It is a street hustle. Here is where you can find out info on everything listed. http://www.neworleanscvb.com/Here is what is called lagniappe: Recommended Fishing Guides: 1. Bayou Charters ( he guides out of Hopedale LA) http://www.captaincharlie.com/2. Bourgeois Fishing Charters (guides out of Lafitte, LA) http://neworleansfishing.com/index.html3. Looks like a place to explore a bit. Course I think i'd like to stay on the outskirts. Big cities just don't do it for me.

Number one on my list would be some backwater fishing for flounder and specks I do miss the fishing when I lived in Louisiana. A small craft on any mouth of a Bayou where there is brackish water (and tide coming in) will have you on Specks. We had a 27' Chris-Craft Sport Fisherman (twin 440 chrysler's) with a flying deck, outriggers and full fighting chair. So could fish for just about anything within a 100 miles of shore. But most often just ran out to the Chandeleur Islands and fished that area. At the end of the day...crack open a cold beer, put it on auto-pilot and cruise back home. I miss that part, but I don't miss New Orleans. Horse races are fun too.

I’d never consider living there but an occasional trip is fun. Same here I'd never want to live there but would go once a month if I could. We enjoy the food and entertainment there greatly. Really like the people there. To enjoy NO you have to go with the right attitude! lol
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I’m there every couple months for work. Last trip I had to stop by the Gumbo Shop to re-up on the garlic hot sauce. Always have to visit Oceana Grill for the redfish pontchartrain. We spend a lot of time out around Frenchmen for the underground jazz club places

We used to live there. I don’t miss the city, but I miss the food. I’d go back for a visit, but the wife is against it these days. Probably the top 3 meals I’ve had in my life were in New Orleans. Mardi Gras was tons of fun back then. We lived down in “da Parish”, and we’d go to all the local parades, catch beads, doubloons, and beer (yes, sometimes), get in my little convertible and follow the tail end of the parade and throw all the stuff we caught.
Wish I was there right now. Lunch would have been a burger and beer at the “Port of Call” on Esplanade Avenue. Then we’d walk through the French Market and then wander over to Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop for another beer.
I even have family ties there. A distant cousin (a Nancy Boy) owns an antique shop on Royal Street. He’s out of prison now, where he was sent for running a team of grave robbers that apparently supplied his antique shop to some degree. Try to top that…
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

He’s out of prison now, where he was sent for running a team of grave robbers that apparently supplied his antique shop to some degree. Try to top that… Now that's a story! I do like the antique stores on Royal. And, I'm no Nancy boy. 'Miss Antoine's very much. Honeymoon with #1 was in New Orleans. And, a few years later, pretty sure daughter #2 was conceived there. Second wife and I have been a few times. We did a little business with the Water Dept.; hydraulic valve operators and tools. Charleston has just as good a food and lots of restaurants. If I had to live on the east coast, it'd be there. Of course, I'd weigh 300#.
