Ill start by telling you that my time here, over many others, has giving me the best experience and memories that i know will last a lifetime. From day when i called expecting no availability, and blessed with an actual booked hunt for an opening day White Tail meat hunt, they made me and my hunting buddy feel like family. When we arrived late afternoon we met our guide Wyatt who checked us in and wasted no time taking us out to our spots. He immidiately put us on on deer!! 5:05pm to be exact and i was surrounded by several groups of wild White tail with big beautifull mature Does and a mix of the younger bucks popping out ready to bless someone with later grazing in a wide open field!!! Do i tag out my 1st day in 20 minutes?? Lol I was in shock! There is no mistake Wyatt and this group know what they are doing. I can go on and on but my recommendation to anyone not willing or able to pay ridiculous prices for the same, if not better, Trophy Buck, Doe, or the quality hunting experience we look for with experts who care, do yourself a favor and check them out. You will thank yourself! Cant wait for the next hunt with my new hunting family! Till next time.

Well, this is a first for AO, a positive review.

Yeah - I didn't want to stir the pot, but between that being post #1 and the less than inviting pictures, I'm not sure that's going to get much business in the door.

You mean a smoke after killing those little baby deer doesn’t get your heart rate up for this place?

Hunted with AO (guide: Darrell) this weekend near Brownwood. Blinds & feeders in good condition. Camp fair but acceptable. This is a basic hunt; no hand-holding which I don't want or need. Saw a good # of deer (40+) despite unfavorable weather. I'll book again.

(I'll save someone the trouble; yes, first post.)

Always do a search online of the name of the outfitter, the owners of the company, and even the names of the guides. Search on FB too. Look at all their pictures and when they where posted. It only takes ten minutes to see who to avoid. If you see red flags, walk away.

It's also very interesting when the extremely happy clients take the time to join the forum and post a glowing review, then quickly turn into ghosts........:)

I went on a late season meat hunt around Jacksbro last week. It was what it was supposed to be. Lodging was fine. Warm, comfy, cleaned, and furnished. Saw a good # of deer. Shot a nice doe the first morning, back out that evening and shot a spike. We were not able to find the spike, but my guide Leonard, went back out with me the next morning and we were able to recover the deer. Cold enough at night that the meat was fine. Not a hand holding hunt. Fine with me. Price is better than any lease, especially for some freezer fillers. Good skinning shed onsite to skin and store you deer. I would book with Affordable Outfitters again.

Well I'm new to this forum, and new to hunting. I've hunted 2 times in the 21/22 season. A little with my dad long time ago when I was a kid, but never shot. 1st hunt was with my brother in law. No dear taken, because I missed. So bought a new Vortex 6x24x50 diamondback for my 270 Savage. Spent 3 weeks sighting it in, and practicing. Then I called James at affordable outfitters. At first he said he was booked for the season but had cancelations time to time. 2 or 3 days later, he called me and offered 2 hunts, both for meat. Picked the last weekend of the season. Arrived Friday afternoon and met with my guide Aaron. No BS guy, he set me up with the lodging, informed me of how everything worked. By the way, I informed both James and Aaron I'm a beginner hunter. Could go on, bottom line took my first dear Saturday morning. Gut shot another Sunday morning. Saw dear every time I was in the blind. Was holding Aaron up tracking the one I gut shot, and he had to pick up another hunter so we quit tracking. Bottom line James went back, tracked my dear, text me and gave me my meat. Saw some pretty negative reviews after I had bottom my hunt, had me worried. But I had a blast got my my meat. I'll try and post a picture
