Digging in my larger chest freezer came up with some London Broil (all between 2lb. and 3.2 lb. Angus Choice) that I bought in March 2020 for $2.48/lb and double vacuum sealed for long-term storage. I slow cooked one of them today for 8.5 hours then slapped it on a hot grill for 90 seconds per side. I am quite pleased with how good it came out! If I come across more on sale, I will buy it again.

No, it's not like a filet or ribeye, but the texture and flavor were like a sirloin. I realize that it's way below the standards of many of you, but I thought that I would share it in case others might be interested.

Yum! Over the years I’ve enjoyed many London Broils. Oyster cuts were the best.

Many times I e seen pork steaks cut from a pork shoulder for less a pound than a shoulder roast. Felt funny feeding boneless pork steaks into a grinder for sausage making lol.

What is a London broil?

It is a versatile cut of meat. You can make several dishes using the same cut.

London Broil is really the name of a preparation method of a Top Round or Bottom Round roast, as TPack said. It is generally low in fat/marbling and quite tough. This one was nice and tender after slow cooking it at 130F for 8.5 hours, then finishing on a ripp'n hot grill.

I sliced it up and made different dinner sized batches with: Mushrooms/onions/garlic, another swimming in BBQ sauce and a third with Teriyaki. These make quick heat and serve meals.

They remind me of Sirloin, which to me has an awesome flavor that you can't find in higher end cuts. Extra thick sirloins seared crispy on both sides to medium rare is some of the finest tasting steak in my opinion.
