Looks like I’ll be loading the dogs and headed South on Saturday. Should be cold enough to hunt til Tuesday morning.
Any brave souls headed the plains states to hunt in the artic temps?

It could lower the pressure on the quail. This is arguable but I think the hen we shoot today could be a clutch for next spring. That is why I quit shooting doubles several years ago.

Most of the spots I found birds last season are so thick with vegetation they are not huntable now. A hard wet freeze would help immensely.

Need a hard freeze and some cold to settle in for a while.
