Last week I had surgery and part of the discharge procedure was to have follow up thru Medicare Home Health Services. The RN showed up a couple of days ago to do initial evaluation. We began the never ending questionnaire general health etc, then out of the blue she asked, Do you have any firearms? At the time it didn’t seem out of place, then a series of questions about storage locking etc, and then I was asked do you have knives? Who doesn’t have knives? Not sure where this was leading….but definitely weary about any further questions

this has been happening for many years now, although considered conspiracy theory. Its another round about way of tracking to disarm.

These questions tend to be asked of people with long term chronic pain, or those that have a history of depression. My back doc asks anytime he's filling a pain script for me. My PT did one time. I told them yep but the details are none of your business, and moved on. It's just CYA on their part.

They started this years ago. My kids doctor asked about this when they were very young. I shut her down and let her know the kids are safe.

Every time I go to my Family Doctor Medicare requires them to give a Depression survey….then they charge me to find out I’m not depressed

Exactly! I have seen those questions on some of my paperwork and I always leave them blank. They are worded in such a way that no matter how you answer it could be seen in a negative way so I just don’t answer. Nobody has ever questioned me about it so I am sure they see that a lot.
