So Ive done most of my homework on setting up for my first suppressor. Looks like Silencer shop is easy peasy with their kiosk. Ive got the cash and Im going in on my next day off.

I didnt look at all of the different silencers since out there because there are a ton. I did some homework and I have one or two picked out in my head already.

I was just wanting a few more recommendations so I dont miss something that may be a better deal out there.

This is for my 6.8spc AR hog gun (16in). I dont want a long model I am thinking midrange in size like 6 to 7 inches max. Im looking at the dead air sandman-S as one I am seriously considering. Its mid length and it has decent audible reduction for its size and it is said to be very rugged and sturdy. It is about 900 give or take.

Anything else I need to look at for that price or cheaper?

Thanks for the input.

I’ve had great support experiences with SilencerCo, Griffin Armament, and Bowers. I’d gladly buy any of them again.

What gets me, in addition to the cost, are the long wait times. Heard good things about the “kits” you can buy, and I’m considering doing a form 1. Supposed to knock wait times down to just 2-3 weeks when you do it online. Seems to be a good way to save some money and time.

I’d wait just a little bit. The Form4 is going back on the eForms and website is supposed to be completely revamped after the first of the year. Supposed to cut the wait times down a lot. We shall see, ATF messes everything else up though so who knows. But I know they don’t want to come back from working from home so they might actually get this one right this time because it benefits them.

I know this: once you shoot with a suppressor, you never want to be without again. I've got the Sandman Ti, similar to L & love it on AR & bolt guns.

I’m going to buy a 9mm suppressor soon, but waiting on the from 4 to go back online after the first of the year. I agree with Dodge Rock. Once you shoot with a suppressor it’s tough to go back.

Not able to recommend as I don't own one, however maybe someone on here as something to say about Witt Machine & Tool Co's line of suppressors. They are 4" in length and the price is under $300.

I have a Q Trash Panda. Great suppressor but there are a lot of great ones. I would spend a little more and go titanium. You will appreciate the weight savings.

This is why I haven’t purchased my pistol suppressor yet.

The nomad and a few others mentioned above are on the short list also. Thank you guys I have looked at most of the suppressors you guys mentioned.

Im torn on whether or not to wait. My buddy and I have been planning this and TALKING about it without action and tomorrow is the day. So we are both trying to figure out the best course.

I've put probably close to 15k through my Sandman S. It's been a great suppressor. In fact I got another one so i can have one on both my 6.8 pig guns. I'm pretty rough on my AR's while pig hunting and the Sandman S has held up great. I use the muzzle break on my 6.8 and the recoil is less than a 556. Dead air makes 5.56, .270 and 30 cal end caps for them. I can hear the difference between the standard 30cal end cap and the .270/5.56 end caps.

I just went and filled out my forms on the kiosk today and ended up with the Sandman S. A few of the others like the NomadTI were sold out and it was really slim pickins for what I wanted. It came down to the Nomd30 and sandman that were both available and I really wanted the QD attachment the Sandman offers so I pulled the trigger a few days ago.

Now to just try and forget about it until it comes. Going to be hard to do.

Should have got a nomad unless you’re going to war. You can put a keymo on a nomad

I have 7 waiting for approval right now. My 8yr old daughter started deer hunting this year so I bought enough to cover Me, her, and the wife when shooting/hunting together. Finally got tired of swapping mine from gun to gun!

I got 2 rimfire, Dead air Mash HD 22 & Thunder Beast 22TD.
(2) 30 cals, Dead Air Nomad L and Dead Air Nomad LT.
(2) Big bore rifle cans, griffin armament bushwhacker 46 & Bowers Vers 375.
1 Pistol, Rugged Obsidian 45 (going to use for subsonic 350 legend also).

I will get a Nomad TI if I find the want for a shorter can.

I have the Witt Dirty 30 4 inch and while it’s better than nothing ,it’s not much better.
I recommend you look at Thunderbeast

Don't listen to B-I-Law...Sandman S is a great suppressor. My favorite thing about it is the ability to shoot as much as I want without worrying about temperatures. You don't have to be nice to it. Quick attach is sweet. Just ratchet it down and go. Enjoy it (once it finally arrives).
