I have always set my feeders to go off daily. It someone hunted only on the weekends, what do you guys think about having the feeders go off only Thursday-Sunday? In this example, the corn cost would be reduced by 43%.

Deer become quite conditioned just like other animals when it comes to eating/feeding. Not sure feeding just a couple of times a week will keep that "condition" strong and as engrained in their minds. As said better than nothing but I'd be concerned they will exit door left for other ranches feeding daily.

Corn is one of the cheapest things you spend money on to hunt. Kinda like shells on a dove hunt or upland hunt. Feed daily and you will have more deer. Simple as that.

Lower your daily feeding amount, and invest in a remote

Not to mention that during periods of 'stress' (going into the winter months or late summer) feeding is helping to sustain the wildlife NOT just attract it for hunting purposes.

I think 'Giving Back' is something that should be thought of and practiced by more folks.

Agree with all of the above. Also, the goal, at least for me, is to keep animals from having to leave our property as much a possible. They still do, and always will, we just seek to provide habitat where they don't really need to.

We feed protein & corn yr around, and do food plots spring and fall. We have good native grazing, browse, acorns, pecans, and persimmons. The savings from skimping on corn would be a drop in the bucket of what we spend a year.

If I did want to save money on corn, it wouldn't be by interrupting the weekly feeding schedule. I would just not feed corn for a few months from mid-spring until mid-summer when the pigs are eating most of it because the deer have so much natural stuff to eat.

My aminals get to expecting the feedings at a certain time...some of the worst corn whores actually arrive about 15-20 minutes early and just mill around till the feeder goes off then run to it like a kid in a candy store.

I don't think they'd take to well to only running the feeder on certain days, no sir...if they could they'd leave an I object sign - actaully they probably would by crapping all over everything...

I think you feed every day but feed heaver on the days you are able to hunt they will come to the feed regularly but stay longer depending upon the amount available. And I have had great success from Corning any lane or field road that you can see from your stand
