Ive got a question about all the game cam pics Ive been seeing I just recently purchased one and havent checked it yet but Im very eager. I was wondering about 90% of the pics I see are at night and everyone seems really excited theres a big buck in there area but if its only comeing at night why get excited are you planning on the rut to get him to come out during the day, or does anyone some plan to get these big boys out earlier I have quite a few years hunting under my belt but havent mastered the art of getting a big nocturnal buck I know is in the area to come out during the day.

Later in the fall after it cools off you'll see the percentage of daytime pics increase. We had pics of some big bucks during legal shooting light last year. The rut never hurts though.

Luck! You might have to stay in your stand all day. Deer do move and alot time in mid day. Hunting pressure is the big reason nocturnal occurs. Most hunter stay in their stand 2 hours in the morning and evening. Stay in that stand and maybe get LUCKY on a decent buck.

Keep in mind, there's a good chance the bucks won't even be in the same area's they're in now once the rut gets here unless they are young or small. I've seen it happen year after year with my game cameras. It's to the point now that I don't even put my cameras out until I start seeing rubs & scrapes. I've taken pics of nice bucks all year long(spring & summer) at feeders just to find they disappear when the rut gets here, and then I start to notice different bucks. Let's face it, they are easy to pattern during the Spring & Summer, but those patterns often change in the Fall.

You will probably start getting some day pics around the middle of Sept. and more as it gets cooler as someone else has mentioned. When the rut hits there is not telling where your bucks will be and what time of day. Later in the season the bucks will start hitting the food sources regularly again although it might be at night due to hunting pressure but nonetheless they will be there. Could do a push in some known bedding areas to maybe get a shot at one.

I am kinda new to hunting but you might check the moon times with your camera times. See if they days that the pics were taken with him were the same days the moon was good a bright. That is the first thing I would check.

Some of the game camera forums are stating that they are having problems with the cameras working in the extreme heat. The main culprit seems to be the cuddeback no flash. I run the cuddeback experts and have not had a problem. Just giving you a different angle.
Live extreme, stay safe.

Looking at some of these bucks, it would be a pleasure to know that they are just in my neck of the woods. If deer hunting were a sure thing, it would be no fun. Even if I see them at night, it gives me something to look forward to knowing that if things go right, I might get a shot at a particularly nice buck.
Life is a crap shoot, enjoy it if you are going to play.

You nailed it there. As long as I know that there are some good bucks around is all that I need to keep me motivated. At my age it's hard to get pumped up if you know that the kind of deer you're looking for doesn't live in your area. That's exactly why I quit hunting in the western hill country / eatern trans pecos area and started hunting in the panhandle. I may not kill a buck but I know that there are some monsters living there. YMMV.

Can't get a biggun if you shoot a little en or your at camp sleeping it off. I love the pics cause it does keep everybody at camp motivated and no problems with my Cuddyback yet.My biggest buck (138) was taken at 1:40pm in a pouring down rain on a Friday the 13th.. So you never know when SAD DADDY'S COMIN!
