We could have, had it not been so windy. But no, we did not hear the hits. We had a left to right cross wind, so the sound did not travel back to us. Something else I wanted to learn was if mild steel would hold up that far out. It is 1/2" mild, and the answer is yes, it did not take damage, just knocked the paint off.

1760 yards, one mile.

First time I did it with a stage gun .338 LM

Next time I did it with a friend's. 300 RUM

Next time was with this rifle, this year in March. I had to beat it. End goal is 1.5 mile with this rifle. 2640 yards.

Laser wouldn't range it. I milled it and did the math, and was still wrong. Splashed four rounds continuing to add elevation. Bit windy all day, the wind hold was 2.8 Mils, which is 18 feet at the target.

Wow, outstanding! I was thinking that you could use the ruler in Google Earth to measure the distance to some landmarks for reference.

Surely that round isn't still supersonic at those distances? Great shooting.

The measure tool does not exist on the app, on a phone. Just on desktop.

Right now, it is not. Today, it would be 1043 fps at 2640 yards. But so much bullet weight, and BC, it might hold up flying trans sonic.

this kind of shooting blows my mind. just seems impossible to hit anything that far away. Just shows you what good shooting knowledge along with the right equipment, boom, done.
Nice job JGF.
