There is an Marlin 882L (2nd gen, laminate stock, removable box magazine) on TGT. It's in San Antonio listed at $350.
There's a Savage 93 in .22WMR a with laminate stock and a scope in Grandbury for $350 on TGT.
There's a Mossberg Model 640 .22 Magnum Chuckster on TGT for sale in Dallas for $450 ... a little high but they are pretty uncommon.

Marlin 883 stainless and with a cheap scope $350 in LaPorte per ad on TGT.
Marlin XT-22M (Remlin) on TGT for $250 in Leander.
Marlin 882L (laminate, box magazine) in San Antonio for $350 on TGT.

After a lot of research I ended up with a CZ 512 American. It shoots great, but is more than $400.

I figured if I have all the ammo, might as well have a way to shoot it.

Anyone still looking? There's a 783 on TGT for $400 and it comes with a Marlin sling (selling for $150-ish alone right now) and some kind of scope and rings...located in Houston.
I have no dog in the hunt.

I was looking for an old 783 and gave up, I've got a Bergara 22 mag that should be here Monday or Tuesday. I got one in 22 LR and really liked it.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
