Snakewrangler's pig prepping post (Recipes) got me to thinking about the old Foxfire book(s) back in the '70's. I only read the first one. Great book that covered hog dressing, moonshining, planting by the signs and a few others. Anyone else read this book or the others in the series?

Yes, still have a copy of the original, a lot of informative information in that book.

Yep, I think all of them. Ask me about white oak splits and moonshine.

I’ve never heard of it, but I’m interested, now.

Here is an explanation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foxfire_(magazine)

I have never looked, but I bet you can find them on CD or DVD probably even video books.

Have one through five
I think there's seven maybe?

Most used book stores have one or two
very reasonable. Most every one that has
any usually has number one

A lot of it reminds me of how my own folks
grew up
I really liked the story about the woman and her
siblings waiting a long time along a road to see
a real car that was supposed to drive by at some
point that day when they were small kids.
Hard to imagine not ever seeing a car before, then
waiting somewhere the better part of the day to
watch it drive down the road.
That'd be like sitting on the shoulder of the high
5 at central expressway waiting to NOT see a car

I have 7 or 8. Read them all. The last on I bought fell apart. Didn't buy any more after that happened.

I had some prior to going through a divorce many years ago. Nuff said.
