While I was reading the what do you shoot post, I started wondering how long have you bowhunted or shot a bow. As many people that shoot on here I bet, if needed, we could get some good advice.

I have shot a bow for three years and this will be my second season to bowhunt.

Got my first bow when I was 6...a crappy compound(Indian Spirit) when I was 8...then a good bow when I was 12...the first time I was allowed to hunt with a bow was when I was 8. Would wonder around Grandpa's farm shooting AT rabbits.

I started hunting with a bow, a Jennings Shooting Star, in 1984 and have hunted virtually every year since then. I still shoot a Jennings; now a Carbon Extreme.

That was how I started out hunting. I went with a friend of mine that could only take guest in bow season. So for 2 seasons that is all I did. That was back in 1997.

Man that's a tough one. I had one of those red Bear kids bows when I was 8 or so, then got a bigger recurve type. Got a bear Whittail Hunter in about '85. Never killed a deer with it because I hunted tough places in Oklahoma and E. texas. Killed my first deer(doe) in Llano in 1989 or so. Never touched a gun since.

Been bowhunting and shooting a bow since I was 10, so 27 years. Damn I'm getting old, never thought I would do anything for 27 years especially when I was 10.

My Dad fixed me up with my first bow when I was about 8 years old in 1968. Played with that for a few years thinning out the rabbit population. Then the Bear white tail hunter compound came outin the early 70's I think and at that time I thought that was the thing to have. Never could get the hang of shooting a compound with sites after shooting instintive all those years so I went back to a recurve and long bow. Hunt for the challenge in Tx. and N.M. now with my Traditional bows. Craig

I started bowhuntin when I was about 12. Been doing it ever since. Never got too terribly serious about it until about 7 years ago. Still looking to close the deal on a whitetail. Came real close last year, but ended up loosing the deer. Hoping this upcoming season is just a little better. I still break out the rifles the first of November but I would like to get to a place in my life where I mainly hunt with the bow and maybe only take the rifle out once or twice a year for old times sake.

Been gun hunting my whole life. I got my first bow last year. It's a Browning Micro Adrenaline, I LOVE IT! Between Cabela's and my b/f it's nicely tweaked. This will be my first season to hunt with it.

Started shooting a recurve in 1971. Switched to a compound bow in 1986. Started bowhunting when I got the compound. Had a long layoff from bowhunting and started back a couple of years ago.

I bought my first bow in 1984. A Pearson Diamondback. Springy rest, no sights. Had to put the camo socks on the limbs when hunting. That bow and my 2nd, a Spoiler by Pearson, killed more deer than I ever shot with a rifle. Uderstandably so, though; I bow slapped my deer so I could spend more days in the duck marsh.
Now I have a 2005 PSE Shark. Tore my tricep last year so I was out for archery season. But she'll get inaugurated next month.
