is anyone seeing anything. the only thing coming to my feeder is small bucks and does all shooters left before opening day of rifle season

is anyone seeing anything. the only thing coming to my feeder is small bucks and does all shooters left before opening day of rifle season Probably a sign that the bucks are actively seeking out Does. Get off of that feeder...if that is what you are hunting. I haven't hunted Mills County in quite a few years, but my family used to own 800 acres West of Goldthwaite. In the many years I hunted it....bucks were moving pretty good by the last week in October into the first two weeks of November. Of course, it can vary some year to year....but right now should be good most places.

the hunters next to me have food plots and they are experiencing the same problem no big bucks no scrapes no nothing just kinda weird for the area i hunt always see and shoot good deer

I’m SE of Goldthwaite and it was pretty hot between the 6th-11th. I saw 7 different 4.5+ bucks locked up with does. I watched a one-horn buck whip two others in a matter of minutes. Fun stuff! Typical peak is 13th-17th.
I’m back today but not hunting until this evening.
