Don’t have one yet, but I’ve done way too much research. The next gun I buy will be a Bergara B-14 Ridge Wilderness in 6.5 CM. For the $, it’s hard to beat unless you go Tikka. I like the classic Rem 700 look, weight of it and all the features.

Looking to get a 6.5 creed more, what model rifle would you recommend? More information on intended use and budget would be helpful. It's a common cartridge so the options are almost limitless.

Depends on your intended use…but those Sako Varmint models sure do look great. Plus, you know it’s going to shoot and hold value.

Lots of good ones suggested, if looking for a cheaper hunter/beater Ruger American would get you those ranges and be one a few scratches won't upset you
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

Tikka T-3 Lite Not so sure, at all, that these "mountain rifles" are any type of all around fit for Texas hunting. Please enlighten us. Tikka lites aren’t really “mountain rifles” the way a kimber Montana, or old Remington 700 mountain LSS rifles are. The lite barrel is something like .630”-.650” diameter at the muzzle. They are good sporter weight hunting rifles that will hold accuracy for a few shots in a string but still handy to carry. IMO Only reason to go with a heavier barrel would be if you want the rifle to perform double duty also target/varmint shooting or you need a little thicker muzzle diameter for 5/8” muzzle threads for a suppressor. I have owned several t3 lites in various chambering and they all have shot well and held accuracy well for the few shots typically needed for most hunting situations. Most guys don’t want to carry a true varmint heavy barreled rifle that weighs over 10# scoped for hunting whitetail, predators, or hogs.

For 300 yards and not worrying about scratches, put me in the Ruger American camp. I just bought one in 308 for basically the same reason. I don't love the Ruger Americans but for that type of work and not wanting to spend a lot of money I do think they're hard to beat. If I was wanting to invest a little more money in a little more of a precision rifle, I would probably do that bergara b14 with the adjustable plastic stock I can't remember the exact model. They get good reviews and I kind of like their look. Good luck in your search
Edited to add they have the predator Ruger Americans for $450 right now at academy. I don't think that's a sale price or anything just kind of a normal rate

I’d classify it as one in a heart beat as it’s lighter then the old LSS’s.
