Can somebody give me an estimated velocity I would be getting with the new ammo I just purchased? ( I don't have a chrono)

Specs:

7mm/08
Copper Creek 162 grain ELD-X w/ Lapua brass
Carbon Six 18" barrel with 1:9 twist
Shooting suppressed with Omega 30 Can

Not sure what other info you might need, but let me know.

Thanks,

Ryan

[align:left][/align]Way too many variables, but if I had to give an optimistic guesstimate based on your info, I’d say somewhere in the ballpark of 2575-2600 on the higher end. That’s assuming a bolt rifle, and I would lean towards the lower end. There again, no way to know for sure until you verify it through shooting over a chrono or at distance.

Having no idea what propellant and charge was used....its difficult to make a good guess.

But your barrel length (18") is a factor. That is roughly 4" shorter than most sporter length barrels on a hunting rifle would be.

Still....I would think you'd be in the low to mid 2600 fps range. If you can find out what powder was used, the charge and COAL I can run it through QuickLoad and give you an estimate that way.

Lots of chronographs around here. Where are you located?

Just depends on how Copper Creek loaded it. Mine would be running about 2615 fps out of your barrel. And it is not a published max load. It's an upper node, but not maximum.

I'm in nacogdoches but I'm not a fan of borrowing other people's stuff. I may just buy me one and be done with it. Thank you tho!

Upper mid/tier load then.

I load a 160 gr. Federal Trophy Bonded to just a bit over 2700 fps from a 22" barrel. (Chronographed).

That is very close to a MAX load for the propellant I use.

Barrel length is a decided factor for the OP.

I am just outside of Nac. If you want/need to borrow a chronograph I have one. Just PM me.
