All my hunting was in North, West TX, so I'm considering to change it and need some help. My dates in Houston Dec 4-9. Based on how this year looks so far, which game bird is the best to hunt in these days? And please share your favorite guide. Thank You.

Duck season will be open in the north zone those dates. You could try Gore guide service or Tim Crawley at wegohunt. If you want to try geese you could look ab Butch,s guide service or Coastal Prairie outdoors.

Jamie Pinter is a guide I have used in the past for ducks, I am not sure about his availability, but if you can make a weekday I would imagine he has openings. Tel: 281.844.7887

When I was a kid, there were a $hit Ton of rice farms to hunt in the Katy area...and the waterfowl hunting was good...in less than 1/2 hour, you could be covered up with birds...but now, "progress" has replaced all the rice fields with business parks and subdivisions...and you are gonna have to drive much, much farther from town to experience decoying ducks and geese...best of luck, cause it ain't like it used to be.

I ask my wife everyday why she made us move back to Houston from Kansas. It is a sad day in a hunters life to go from shooting limits of greenheads twenty minutes from the house to having to drive over an hour to shoot a few teal and ringnecks.

Well now you have many more fishing options year round. I think that would help some.
