Some of us are medically trained, treat patients, and transfer patient care to doctors and nurses.

Most of them just listen to the problems found, treatments given, and positive or negative outcomes. Some want to armchair quarterback what happened before the patient got to them.

Doctors are just people and are no different than mechanics, plumbers, etc... There are good ones and bad ones. Not a thing wrong with being cautious.

I trust most drs. The term medical community is very encompassing. Hospitals are not run by doctors. There are more administrators than doctors.

You need a factory automation guy to explain that to you ... not a doctor.

Nope. Republican. I run a medical practice. I was saying 'try living without money', not the medical community.

I've thought about this quite a bot over the last year and a half. I think the default answer here would be "I trust them when I want to trust them, but I will pick and choose when I want to trust them."

Not all doctors made straight A’s. It’s good that we can choose our doctors. Many years ago, our family doctor retired. The wife found a new family doctor. I went to him one time and realized he was running a care factory purely for money. We found a good one after that.

When in Houston we had a great skin doctor. Moved up near Waco and I developed some new skin rash. Found a new skin doctor and he had no clue. Sent me to an allergist, who had no clue. Finally I drove the 150 miles back to Houston and my old doctor. It took him 15 seconds to diagnose the problem, prescribe the meds, and fix my rash.

Just because they are an official card carrying doctor, doesn’t make them a good doctor.

Further, if I hadn’t been living in Houston, with a short drive to the medical center, when I had the brain tumor, I am absolutely positive that I’d have been dead about 40 years ago.

This thread sounds a lot like the typical response when people are asked about politicians. People hate the ambiguous "politician", but they usually like their local person.

Thanks,
Rich

I've had several good ones, particularly the specialists. My electro-cardiologist is probably 65-70 and is amazing. My regular cardiologist was similar age, just retired, and while he appeared to know his stuff, was not quite that level. The younger gen-pracs that I see are encumbered with too many patients at their meat-markets and IMO don't take enough time. This would benefit them too as it's not only about assessing the patient but learning things you still don't know. I get that the system is flooded with too many people that are there for the common cold.

Overall I somewhat trust them but they've taken some lumps lately. I really don't trust anybody anymore. Too many people are either straight lying, straight stupid, or drowning and won't tell you until they've pulled you under as well.

To this extent, I would argue no. I had a $69,000 kidney stone removed for about a 30 minute procedure. Insulin prices are a joke. Are we actively looking for a cancer cure? Again, I would argue no as it is too lucrative. I review my detailed medical statements monthly and the cost of most things are ridiculous. If you don't see the medical landscape as a broken concept today (as a whole), you are part of the problem.

I lost quite a bit of respect when Drs try and convince you a mask is going to protect you from a virus. It is mentally draining and is only done to instill fear into society. Modern Psyops.

Fauchi said in uncovered emails a mask doesn’t work against this regardless of what he says on CNN

When I was about 20 yrs old dentist told me I needed 4 cavities filled. I got 4 fillings.

20 years later I had wisdom tooth pulled. Oral Surgen said someone did an excellent t job on your fillings and said do you realize you didn’t have cavities. Every dentist I went to since then have told me the same.

Thanks, Billy

I have two silver fillings that I received in the early 1980s that my current dental hygienist says aren't cavities.

I will say I trusted the medical industry a hell of a lot more before a year and half ago. I used to not question anything with the medical industry until I see how they’ve played along with some of the stupid chit pushed by politicians now a days. It’s really a damn shame.

Yes, in general, but the last nearly two years has made me way more cautious and choosing a doctor and advocating for myself.

JPS has amazing trauma and emergency doctors and nurses...the care after can be lacking. One of my best friends was in a severe car accident in March and should be dead. The trauma team literally brought him back to life 3 times...the care once he was transferred out of Trauma was definitely not up to par. I've gotten him a new set of doctors to care for him and he's well on his way to a full recovery. He does want to go and thank the trauma team personally for saving his life.
