There is a sleeve the lugs lock into that is held in place in the action by the same pin design that is used on an AR barrel extension...it's not a great design in my opinion. But the one action I did buy (before learning this) and chambered up a 7-08 for, shot very well...my Dad has that gun currently, it's the first barrel I ever chambered. The ironic part is...BP listens to me on this but completely ignores everything else I tell him Kinda like this: That’s it…didn’t know them and GAP had got in bed together.

Apparently GAP is no longer using that action, I looked at all of their action and not a single one was this design, maybe for the reasons you listed

To get exactly what you want, you normally pay full price for new. If you want to save you have to make compromises. That’s why some people pay “too much”. They have the means to buy “exactly what they want” and don’t have to “wait for a deal”.
I am holding out for a bargain. When the kids are grown and on their own I’ll pay for exactly what I want, when I want it, too!

I just bought a waypoint in .308 with cf barrel for $2175. Still working up a load but shot a .25” group today with 175 ELD-X and Varget. I really like this rifle.

Considering one in 6.5 PRC with the CF barrel and adjustable stock.
Anybody have experience with the rifle or BSF carbon fiber barrels? If you aren’t set on Carbon Fiber the Fierce Rival is a really good deal, carbon barrel one is just a touch more. The third option in the line is a titanium action carbon fiber barrel, but it’s closer to custom pricing, although at its weight, it’s hard to beat at its price point.
