I was drawn for the 2021 rifle hunt for Balcones Canyonlands for Nov 19, in comparment unit 1-7. Has anyone hunted here before and had any luck? I'm supposed to be parked in the very back of the unit. Can I make it to the back of the property in my 2-wheel drive P/U?

Ok. I did speak with a couple of people and I was advised to check out the property during the scouting sessions. Will do. I was also advised to treat it as a outting and to count myself lucky to just see a deer. Well ok. I rather count myself lucky at the lotto.

My wife and I hunted the pasture off 286 that's long and not very wide, can't remember the number it had. There were two stands on it to hunt from. We never saw a deer. There was private property all around this area that had feeders so that's probably where the deer were, next to the dinner plate.

I drew for 1-2. Planning to use scents for attractant. Heard there’s a lot of deer sign in the area so they have to be there. Not expecting anything great but I’ve seen several forum posts on people that have pulled nice deer and others that have been skunked. Sounds like hunting to me!

Brother and I hunted this area last season: ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/11/full-61160-321951-da845d86_27a2_4ece_b068_061f7cd80428.png) We saw one deer during our hunt. Surrounded by private that had a lot of activity happening while we were hunting. I won’t put in for this hunt again.
