I have for trade a Remington 788 in .308.
I’m looking for a .357 preferably a Smith 586 or 686

The 788 is in awesome shape. Mounts and rings are good, but I would consider putting another scope on it.
FTF Collin County
Thanks, Brian

I stand corrected, as pdugas stated, checked my history on 788’s. They produced 18&1/2” carbines in,.243, 7-mm08, and .308 in one year, 1980. Still great guns!!!!!

I have the carbine .243 that was my first deer hunting rifle, my dad bought it at a pawn shop in Ft Worth in the early to mid 80's. I have safe's full of guns but cherish it more than any.

Bump and tracking.

I do have a 686 357 that I almost never fire BUT it is sentimental to me and I'm no where near you. My brothers like your area, Richardson. I'm torn.

Funny how popular the 788 is. I have one in 6mm never been fired got it from Oshmans when they were around. I think I paid 100 for it in the 80s. Friend of mine talked me into it. Just wished I would have kept the box. Good luck with the trade.

I had one marked .222 come into the shop. Said it would not fire. Long story short, there was a spacer kit, that changed the 222 to 223...... he got the rifle with a BAGGIE of ammo, took 20 years to use the baggie of ammo......... once headspaced and measured, and once searching his feed truck for the last spent casing..,... riddle was solved. Re-marked it as 223.... it was a rare duck to say the least...
