These things are incredible ---- can not put it in a small space, it will blind you. Here is a pic in my garage, 18' X 40'---- lights it up like daylight. Tried putting 2 in the garage and had to take one out,, it was too bright. I got this at costco, but I have seen them at Home depot. Just screw it into a normal light socket. I think it says it uses the same elect. as a 60 watt bulb.

I got a few similar to that off of Amazon last year. They are really bright. I also like that you can aim the light arms where you need them to go.

I wonder if 3 or 4 would work for a 40x40 with 16’ ceilings?

Depends on how much light you need. 3-4 in a shop of that size, being 16 feet off the floor won’t be impressive at all and would lead to lots of shadows.

I have a 30x40x14 with 9 of these. They are bright, I have 3 per switch so I can use as much as needed. However, I will still add workspace lighting as I see fit.

Got one and put it in the attic today.
Big improvement over the 75 watt bulb up there.

Yes, I have 60 x 60 attic that like 16 feet high, I have 3 of them up there, looks like being outside in the summer time in full sun shine in the middle of summer.
