It's nothing new. Before Classic now and Friendly before, Jim Johnson Chevyland was the largest retail Chevrolet dealer in the nation and this was their downfall. Sad since Tomes family has been in the business forever. I bet they're on the third generation of Tomes by now. It's the third generation owner that always messes up a car dealership.

Pass the gravy.

It's not 3rd generation. Only 2nd generation and I'm pretty sure he is the only child of Bob Tomes in the auto business.

At any rate, I was interested to know if the OP "lawyered up" since his Karen tactics didn't work with the management.

I would bet after a complaint is filed it is paid off within 24 hours.

This advice is solid and he knows the car business.

Ditto this. I used to train contractors for a car manufacturer how to extract sales/service documents from dealerships as part of researching Lemon Law claims. You do have to play a polite version of hardball at the very, very least. Asking for help...worked sometimes. Usually we had to take names (all we could get), get work schedules, and record their promises of action. As soon as they fail to produce as expected, escalate. Leverage whatever we could threaten them with, then carry out that threat as promised, on schedule, then move on to the next threat. And we had to pull teeth like this while representing the dealer's literal source of cars to sell, with our hand on their very sensitive allocation of profitable sports cars. It's sort of like raising a teenager actually....
I'll never buy a new vehicle from a dealership- I know too much. I liked working with Enterprise on my RAM though!

Guessing there was never the need to engage the attorney.

The worse experience I have ever had was at Bob Tomes. The salesman was over the top rude so I have never been back.
