Anyone familiar with the area relating to dove, pigs, or deer?

I know some guy's that hunt there, they are very "protective" of the areas they have scouted and hunt. I would just kind of watch my back out there as with any public hunting.

Yes, its a nice place to hunt dove. I've seen hogs out there and no deer, but there are tracks everywhere. A friend I know lived near there off CR 2651 and she saw them all the time. She said that she had to drive slow because many deer are hit there. You have to have the public hunting permit to hunt there and its by means of archery, muzzle loader, or shotgun slug. Its an hour northwest of Irving.

We've bowhunted the grasslands in Decatur before. Had good luck but watch out for the copperheads!!!!! We ride horses out there sometimes and camp out. It's a pretty clean place and plenty of good bowhunting spots.
