Probably heights is my worst fear. It’s not so bad that I panic or nothing but I do try to avoid it. Had the chance to do a helicopter hog hunt for a fraction of the normal cost this year. Didn’t even consider it!! I love shooting hogs but not from more that 16’ off the ground. Heights used to get to me. Having to go up in a man lift, for work, has cured that up to 80’. Anything over that is still pretty iffy.

Well, I'm not too fond of heights, but I will get up there if I have to. It does matter whether you have protection around you or not, though. Like another poster said, planes I can handle.
I was working on a man lift with a guy I worked with and he liked rocking it like an idiot. There was a time or two the base lifted off the ground and I nearly chit my pants. No kidding it was not cool!!!
But the most terrifying thing for me is lightening. I absolutely fear that like nothing else.

I’d rather not discuss that. I do, on occasion, hunt with a few members here. I’m not going to show my hand, just in case. Exactly.

Drowning is my number one fear and it almost happened while working boat patrol and having to rescue a flipped boat when a storm kicked up in January. I had already put my bullet proof vest back on as the shift was nearly over when we got the call. We got to the boat closest to the flipped boat and it was our worst boat but would save us nearly 45 minutes. Well, we miss timed a wave in the pitch black and we sunk the boat. It was mid January, cold as hell and huge swells for that lake. I did my best to hang onto the porpoising boat but my life jacket was enough. I ended up ditching my gun belt to shed weight. Eventually DFD showed up and grabbed us. We needed up being fine, just cold. Divers found my belt the next day.
Heights only bother me if it’s short enough to brake a bone or be paralyzed. If it’s tall enough to kill me, I’m okay with it.

Stepping in a covey of quail walking to my stand at dark thirty in the morning. Right there with that is looking down at a 5ft long timber rattler coiled up and ready for business less than a foot from my left leg. Good thing there are no white undies in my wardrobe.

Our tyrannical government and dumb as a box of rocks president. This^ Although my daughters always ask why I’m not scared of ghosts or the dark. My reply: If they can put their hands on me I can do the same and we will see who ends up walking away.

Satan, and not because of what he could do to me, but what he does to nonbelievers and can make their heart and mind twisted and hard. He also has many wolves in sheep clothing working as “ministers” and “prophets” deceiving the people into prosperity and to be worried about worldly issues.

I keep having a nightmare where an old man who buys a new F250 every 3 yrs is chasing me through a corn field while towing an air stream. When he finally catches me he gets out and this is the scariest part, he has a man bun and a leather satchel and then I wake up. Some scary crap.

Sometimes I’ll think about certain things I did as a young person, particularly related to a very high water tower, and on occasion it will make me shake like a dog pooping peach pits. My guardian angel worked overtime in those days.

If I have to take someone along, they’ll get a knot on their head for rocking the basket. And I don’t go that high unless I’m on the controls. I trust myself to be smooth about it. I don’t trust anyone else.

Thoughts about death of one of my sons or daughters I hear you on your third point. My Dad buried two Sons before he passed, this is literally my worse nightmare. I pray to God on the regular that if any bad must befall my family, please let it happen to me and me alone. Spare my children.

Not having the funds to live privately. To me, hell on earth is walking out of your front door and being able to see 27 other people walk out of theirs. I would rather be dead....

The one thing that bothers me most is when I'm on a boat and I get to thinking the closest land is straight down. Drowning has to be a terrible way to go.
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

The lousy drivers we have now. Lightening, had some close calls. What China is doing to this country and few seem to notice.

I've heard the sizzle before the pop from lightning twice in my lifetime, I've picked up horns & hoofs from an indirect strike once. Nothing scarier to me.

Claustrophobia. MRI tubes, crawling in tight spaces between floors. Gotta have a couple white pills before the MRI. I bailed out on my first one. I saw no reason to stick me all the way in just for a picture of my knee.
