Any Childress hunters our there ? We are seeing some really good WT bucks this year. Probably the best we have seen in the 5 years we have leased the property. Lot of really nice bucks were broken up early last year so it really seems to have benefited our area cause those broken bucks from last year are really growing into some studs. Whatcha all seeing ?

Haven’t checked cameras yet. Opening morning will be a surprise. What the camera captures in September & October won’t be there in November through January on our place. We are between Quannah & Childress
Good looking deer and good luck!

Good looking deer and good luck! Good luck to you as well, I see some good bucks come out of the area between Quannah and Childress! Definitely seems to change in November as the deer move around more and the rut gets going. We have seen the same deer year over year but the big ones just seem to know when the season starts! We have one called the grey ghost, haven't seem him this year but the last two years caught him once on a couple cameras but he is just wicked smart. Several of us in the "lease" neighborhood know about him and have pics, but he is elusive. We bow hunt as well so its been a decent start, one Mule deer down last weekend. Been pretty warm still though so looking forward to it continuing to cool down!

Would love for him to survive this year but at the pace he's on he will be in someones truck opening weekend.

One of the reasons I wanted to post them is I know we are getting more and more hunters in the area. If we all know what potential this area has and do some management of bucks will see regular bucks in the 150s in my opinion.

We have had some good deer in the past. My oldest son took a 157 seventeen years ago. That's the largest we have ever taken. I've seen some pictures of monsters closer to the river. We've had a lot of hunters in our area for 25 years now. Most of the hunters I've run into over the years are in agreement to practice game management. I was out bow hunting last week. We saw plenty of does, some big girls, but the bucks were scarce.
