Buzz's post about Shadow Systems got me to thinking, is there a list somewhere on here that has some of the "local" gun and gun parts manufacturers? By local, I'm talking in and around Texas. I've already done a lot of Google searching and have a list of some of the types of places I'm looking for. The engineering company I work for is putting on an Open House to show folks in the gun and gun parts manufacturing industry our metal 3D printers. The metal 3D printing company we're a reseller for, previously wasn't too privvy to the gun side of things, but we have shown them the light and they have come to the realization that there's a lot of metal pieces inside of different firearms. I'm just the AE that runs the machines, so I'm not going to give you the big speal on them. I can, but I won't unless you want to PM me. I was just hoping to get some contacts on who I could get in touch with. I've been playing around with printing some random parts I've found online (and some of my own) and it's been quite entertaining. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2021/10/full-49141-318585-parts1.jpg)

I can see a lot of potential here. I'm happy to help any way I can. This is a great option for making parts.

Are you needing parts CNC machined? I can give you the name of the manufacturer we use here in Dallas for the machining of our bottom metal parts

We aren't necessarily a "manufacturing" facility, but do have a 3d printing service bureau as a sister company. We have a lot of high end nylon 3D printers and 2 metal 3D printers. For the service bureau side of things, we print singles or small batches of parts for customers, but in reality, we really want to teach the customer that does have high volume needs, to print themselves. Basically we want to sell the printers.
This particular metal printer company was pretty hard against guns right out of the gate and didn't want to get into political battles, however with me and another guy here at the office being gun guys, we pushed them to start entertaining the idea of marketing to gun parts manufacturers. Covid has slowed ALL manufacturing down across the board, so they've been pushing us to start looking at other markets and we again threw out the firearms industry. So many firearm parts are created using MIM (metal injection molding) and our metal printers can damn near keep up with quality, quantity, and pricing as the mim parts. Printed parts, for a manufacturer, are slightly higher than MIM parts, but you don't have to wait on any tooling.
Redsnake, sometimes we do need some CNC work for post processing on critically dimensioned geometries on parts. We don't machine anything here in house, so it would get outsourced. If you don't mind, pass their info along please. They may actually be a really good candidate for coming to check out the technology. You can pm me if preferred. Totally up to you if you want to share here or in private.
Fireman, i'll shoot you a PM.
