I don't have a problem with a blind on a fence line, I'm used to it. People set blinds on fence lines all over S Texas. As long as they have their feeder positioned to shoot INTO their property, so be it. Blinds on fence lines used to get me wound up too, but it's not against the law. A feeder on a fence line is an entirely different subject.

I like the sign idea too. 'Brings out the same losers that, a long time ago, just had to shoot at a windmill tail. I've got some holes in mine. Nothing like leaving a mark that says "Idiots were here!" that lasts for decades.

I would say feeder on fence line and blind facing so that a shot would cross your fence line is never ok. However a blind on the fence line facing in a way that they are only shooting onto there property is ok and perfectly within there legal rights. But it would be the right thing and go a long way at keep the piece between neighbors for him to talk with the other land owner and letting him know why he wanted to place blind there.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Unless it impacts something like a home or a vehicle, good luck proving a projectile crossed a property line. That has been my experience.

If the feeder is in line with his house, it has gone beyond an annoyance. People will generally do this for one of two reasons - either they are ignorant or they are an a-hole doing what a-holes do. A quick conversation with them will reveal which one your neighbor is dealing with. If they are just ignorant they can probably be reasoned with. The other, maybe not. I would talk to them personally and see where that goes. If they are leasing, I would also go to the land owner if that didn't work.

Two wrongs don’t make a right. But I would build a cheap, bright colored deer stand and set right on the fence line right in front of his feeder. Nothing he’s gonna hunt out of. I done this with a cheap port a potty I found for sale and bam, neighbors feeder was moved within a week. I understand nobody wants to start off on the wrong foot, but sometimes, you just have to play the game back.

Update. The neighbor says that talk with the lease folks has resulted in their agreement to move the feeder to a location that would not cause a bullet over the fence issue. The neighbor has then suggested that if a wounded deer jumps the fence on to his place, the lease folks can track it (after a phone call). Looks like everyone wins.

Glad that the situation was resolved. This last sentence to me just sounds like it will be taken as an invite to shoot across the fence. But then I am a cynic.

Glad to hear it got sorted out with no drama.
We had a similar situation a few years ago on our lease where our property formed kind of an L shape with part of a neighboring lease being on the inside of the L. A new group of hunters got on that property and put a feeder in the inner most corner of the L shape. To make matters worse, they put up a tower blind with the feeder and their shooting lane was directly in line with our hunting camp a few hundred yards across one of the fences. So, not only was the feeder in such a position that most any missed shot could potentially cross the fence, but the primary shooting direction from the blind to the feeder was directly towards our hunting camp (which has some old white campers which can be seen for hundreds of yards in any direction as they sit in a very open area surrounded by fields used for farming by the land owner). We used to know someone who hunted the other lease and they gave us the land owner's contact information; we called them as well as the game warden. Within a few weeks, the blind and feeder were gone. I still remember stumbling upon this setup during bow season and standing there staring at it and back at our camp for a good five minutes because it broke my brain trying to understand how someone could not only be dumb enough to conceive of doing something like this but to then actually go through with it.

I wish my neighbor had the wherewithal to track a wounded deer. A phone call would be nice, but way beyond their abilities.

hang a scarecrow on the fence on your side as close to the feeder as you can get.

The neighbor is really ticked off. Folks leasing the property adjoining his have put a feeder on the fence line and a box blind in the field. A shot from the box blind toward the feeder is in line with his bedroom window, 200 yards distant. And, of course, it would be a shot across the fence with no Ok to do so. I suggested he call the game warden, and he did, and had a quick response. The GW came out, had a look, consulted his satellite view and agreed that the feeder and blind placement were a matter of serious concern, but he said that “as yet, there has been no crime”. He did call the land owner, who sent him to the lease guy, and discussions will happen. I sure hope this can get quietly settled.
What I don’t understand is how somebody would be clueless enough to put a blind and feeder in a position like that, knowing a fired bullet would cross that fence. But, I’ve read of situations like that on the forum, so it isn’t uncommon.
The part about there having been no crime, per the GW, seems to ignore the fact that there will most certainly BE a crime the first time the lease guy sends a bullet. What ever happened to crime prevention, though that may be the part where folks talk about the problem.
At least nobody is yelling yet… Because even hunting we still have some Darwin Award winners. It really is that simple. There is a small percentage of folks that hunt that shouldn't even be allowed to own a gun....THEY ARE THAT STUPID. And there is another small percentage that simply have no hunting ethics whatsoever or just do not give a chit about anyone else! As far as what the game warden did, he did his job and all he can do. I'm not sure what you believe the GW can do above what he has already done???
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

People are really stupid these days. My guess is it never even dawned on them that their bullets would cross.
Common sense is gone. May be some new hunters who just didn't know any better. Glad it worked out and hopefully something they'll remember in the future.
