I have a friend that swears he gets into state parks for free with an APH. I tried at cedar hill and the girl told me everyone pays to get in. Anyone had any experience with this?

Neve tried with an APH, but an annual Texas Parks Pass ($60 for 1 card/family, $75 for 2 cards/family) will get you into all the state parks for free. Very handy when fishing multiple lakes, to bypass the private ramp fees that marinas charge.

Per the TP&W website, it doesn't say anything about access to state parks other than "The APH Permit provides entry to TPWD Wildlife Management Areas at times when they are open for general visitation."
