I have had a savage 110 long range hunter in 280AI on back order. It has been almost 3 months. I came across browning x bolt western hunter in 280AI. Has anyone shot or heard anything about them? I had a kimber hunter in 280AI.
Savage 110 280AI is 1@9 twist.
Browning x bolt 280AI is 1@8 twist.
I will be reloading berger vld 168 gr and 180 gr berger.

I don't have experience with that specific model but most Xbolts I've been around will shoot. Good luck and this will take it up to the top maybe someone that has first hand experience will chime in.

I've shot a few X-bolts and spotted for one all day yesterday. The ones I've shot or spotted for have all done well. Pretty nice rifles, really.

One’s I’ve seen shot great. Wood stock? If so consider getting a good bedding job. Not a lot of aftermarket options but with a rifle like that you want keep it as is.

The X Bolt is solid

I’ll be adding another soon as I figure out what caliber I want

I’ve never owned one. I’ve been around a lot of Abolts and they are great. I was leaning towards an Xbolt until I handled one. I don’t like the idea of hanging a suppressor off the end of that pencil thin barrel.

My ABolt is solid. Put a Timney trigger spring kit in it and it’s been great. Shoots 3/4”-1” with factory ammo. Would expect nothing less from the XBolt.

Bergara are nice rifle's. Looking for a 1@8 twist. And a 26 inch barrel.

I have a few X-Bolts and they are all fine shooters. My only complaints are with the funky magazine and how difficult it is to get the barrel out of the receiver without destroying the receiver.

I think he actually owned one of the 5. My guess is he had a Remington.

Browning has been much more open mind on higher BC bullet offerings. Hence the twist rates. Only complaint with brownings have been after market trigger availability. The springs do work well though, especially for the price.
