Was in Grapevine Mills Mall this past weekend and stopped in the ATN store, supposedly their only non-online store in the country. I was not familiar with their products; what do you all think about them? Seemed a little bulky but not sure. The salesperson claimed they were on par with Pulsars quality wise - what say you all about ATNs?

I've had two, trying to find a model that worked even close to "as advertised." No more; I've given up and, in my opinion, ATN should be ashamed of themselves.

There is a reason you will be hard pressed to find a legit, full time mom and pop thermal dealer these days who sells ATN. Most all of us who've been in this industry for a long time have been down the ATN road as dealers and I can't imagine anyone with a conscious still selling them. Guys who do this for a living and have to talk to their customers after the sale and provide them with customer service can't sell ATN. They sell 99% of their scopes on Amazon, OP, Cabelas/BP and the other big box type stores and that's not by random chance. My 2 cents. Been there and done that.

I have an ATN Mars 4 Gen III that is a beast. Still get it out once in awhile.

I know 2 guys that purchased ATN scopes.. One worked fine for about 9 months then had problems (ATN Thor4). He returned it and got lucky after trying to reach out to multiple people to find someone that returned his emails / messages and he sent it in. They sent him a refurbished or new unit a few weeks later. So far so good . Other guy had issues right away with his ATN X-sight Returned and they sent him a more current scope version even though he purchased a few years ago. I think they are trying to have better customer service but who wants to mess with that?

I would say he got lucky getting someone to return his emails, LOL.



I keep hearing year after year about how they have improved lately, but still hear the same stories about how people cannot get defective units serviced. You don't hear that from companies like Pulsar and Trijicon.

As for who wants to deal with customer service, any and every electronic scope is going to have issues at some point. I have owned and needed to have serviced digital NV or thermals from ATN, FLIR, Pulsar, Trijicon, and Armasight. The only one that balked at helping me was ATN. FLIR was a nightmare to deal with as well, but they don't sell rifle scopes to the general public anymore. Their problem was that you had to navigate an overly complex service request system (you registered to be put in the que for a service person to get back with you) and then wait a long time for a response, but they would take care of you.

junk and costumer service is worse
