Do you really use it ?

Besides the auto car wash I cant think I remember the last time I used coins, I even tell the clerks to not give me the pennies . Everything goes to the change drawer when changing clothing.

Do you REALLY use it daily ?

And My Wife certainly uses hers (Female thing ?)

Like you, only at the car wash. Everything goes into a big Jim Beam bottle.

I have breakfast couple times a week at local old school coffee shop. I alway pay and tip cash. I recycle thier change back to them.

I use a lot of quarters for the car wash and laundry. I never use the rest of the change.

Car wash and change jar. Truth be told I seldom use cash anymore but always try to keep some handy. My wife uses change but keeps 5s. She keeps them in the safe, calls them her fun 5s. muyloco

Use it to get water mostly other than that in a container that I "cash" in once a year. My wife on the other hand will count out to the penny any time she is not using a card.

I keep a few coins in my truck cup holder. If I’m paying cash at a drive through, I’ll see if I have enough to make it close. Otherwise, all the coins go into a jar to be cashed in at a later date. Usually accumulate $40-$50 before my jar gets full.

Fixin' to spray off the panhandle mud with quarters in a little bit.

I throw quarters in the pool for the grandkids to dive, get, and keep. Grampy makes it rain. banana2

I save spare change in several locations.

Center console on my truck is like a slot machine payout tray. All change from transactions goes in there, once a year I clean it out to the tune of about $200.00.

All the time. You’d be amazed at how much change you can pick up off the ground in parking lots. I collect plenty at work. I don’t go specifically looking for it but I keep my eyes scanning the ground as I walk and find plenty. Folks pull those keys out of their pockets to leave and the change comes with it.

Funny this comes up now. Me and the wife have been putting change in a glass 5 gallon water jug for many years. Well we finally broke down and I bought a change sorter / roller and so far we have around $800 and about a 1/4 of the way through. Looks like we will take a little trip for our anniversary in December. I am guessing we have around $2500 in there. I will let you know the final tally. We just took the first of it to the bank about half of what we have ready so far. So no, I don’t use it if I do at the car wash or very seldom at a drive thru, if not it goes in the house and into the jug.

For years at work I would always keep a big jar in my locker and empty all my change in it. They always filled pretty fast and my locker was always open so I think coworkers may have been dumping their spare change in them too. Every time I filled one up, I brought it home and stashed it under the house. Plan was to cash it all in when I retired and do something fun with the $. Retired now, I never cashed them in and still keep a jar going for change in my home office. One of these days I am going to dump them all out, separate the copper pennies to sell by the lb on ebay, cash the rest in, and convert it to bullion or bitcoin. Either that or whoever gets the house after we are gone is going to be in for a surprise some day.

A bank where I have an account will let you dump it in a machine for cash or deposit at no cost.

I use cash (and change) pretty regularly. I save more coins than I use though. I like to save change for a few years at a time and then cash it all in. Have bought several guns that way, along with paying a few bills.

Yea, our bank (Bank of America) doesn’t have that option unfortunately.

As metal detectors we always had about 600-800 month to turn in...soo saving is easy.

REMEBER: IF YOU HAVE BEEN SAVING FOR QUITE A WHILE:

CHECK YOUR SILVER COINS,,,, PRE 1964 mostly 10+ times value.

Yeah not all banks offer that.

I take my spare change after about a years of holding to a coin star at the grocery store and get a gift card to somewhere. I get exactly what I put in, there is no juice when you trade it for a gift card.

I always carry cash and save all coin's and 1 dollar bill's, that get's me a couple of guns a year. Last time I cashed in was just over 2 years ago, hanging on to it for my buy in to the World series of Poker, two more years should do it.

How much space does that take up?

Which event you buying in to? The senior championship in late Oct only costs $1000. And it's a bracelet event.

We are like NORML here - we roll our own ever since the CU started charging 5% to cash it in.
