He and his crew do great work! No wonder it looks so great.
My cousin has mounted 100s of his as has another friend and they all do fantastic work. I don't think you could have made any better choice on anyone to do justice to such a great deer.
Just a beast of a buck and I'd take your 8 over any other deer I've seen on this or any other forum. Hell, I'd take a 160 8 over a 175 10 point any day of the week. lol
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!
I am in New Mexico shooting in Steel Safari but my wife’s just sent this to me.

Tremendous buck DStroud and gorgeous mount. I remember when you posted it. 150” is about where eights start to look pretty big to me. 30” inches more on an 8 is incredible. Incredible enough to be a state record! Congratulations on a true buck of a lifetime for any Texas hunter.
did you use the gun I sold you many years ago in Bastrop?
No I used my super duper long range setup a Horizon custom 6.5 PRC with Tangent Theta Scope... and managed to make the 30 yard broadside shot.

Ha I felt same way few weeks ago, talked my self out a long shot right at darking, not knowing if I could find him that night, only to shot him at a 1/4 of distance.
Congrats again!!! It gives us all hope that unicorns do exist!!! Flat stud
