It’s a YouTube channel that dives into the outer edges of society. A world that I am not familiar with, and I’d bet the vast majority of y’all aren’t, either, though I’m certain a handful have at least some first hand experience.

It’s eye-opening, to say the least. Interesting and sad, at the same time. I also can’t help but laugh at a lot of it, even while feeling bad about it.

I’ve been working in and around West Virginia, lately. Two of the guys on my crew are from there. One of them turned me onto this video, which is the best I’ve seen from this channel, so far. One of them communicates by barking. When my hand told me that, I thought for sure it was a stunt. He assured me, otherwise. After seeing the video, I realized it’s no stunt. These things actually happen.

There used to be an inbred family in my hometown, man that stuff is for real LOL. They were all messed up, and very strange.

I felt sorry for the kid that was close to my age. Friendly feller & wouldn't hurt a fly, but other kids always picked on him. Threw rocks at him etc, nobody wanted to be around them.

I always just considered them to be like special needs kids, so picking on them was not cool at all IMO.

West Virginia stereotypes didn’t appear out of thin air. I can tell you that much.

There was a family of them in Fort Worth on the Southside when I was a rookie. They were all deaf. Like 15 people in the same house, all related and all deaf.

I watch that channel on YouTube all the time. The people of West Virginia are truly a special breed of people, and I’m not even talking about the inbred ones. BigFitz looks a lot like them fellars in the video

We had a family here years ago. When I was in field training, we saw one of them walking down the street. My FTO said, " That's (name), he f**** his brother." All I could say is thanks for the heads up.

One of my passions is genealogy research and several folks have ask me to help them on their family tree. I have cautioned them "are sure you want to that?!"

Wow you here the jokes about people like that who live in the boonies, sad to see it in real life.

That and the Hills Have Eyes. Creepy as hell. Those are the kind of horror movies that get to me, because it could absolutely happen.

I have witnessed the results of this, Sneaky knows where. The poor kid (now man) is slow, but smart enough to be lazy, sarcastic, and disrespectful to much older men around him. It really plays with your sympathy/pity and your anger in your mind. And, there's also drugs and copious amounts of alcohol around the family. They will not venture out beyond their clan and they don't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever improving their situation. When the dad dies, they're in big trouble. Utopia hills. Our slice of Appalachia.
