I only write one or two checks a year. I went completely electronic paying my bills.

Once a month for the water and sewer, if you pay online they charge a convenience fee on the total of the bill not a small few bucks.

I do like to pay some bills automatically with a credit card; 'get the points. Our electricity provider will only do a bank draft. CPS (used to be "City Public Service"); sad municipal, union (IBEW) electric utility, trying to act like a big, investor-owned utility, but puro San Antonio.

And hearing. The A/C guy said my bill was $180. I wrote the check for $118.

Use them routinely at the property management office - it's how we pay contractors and most routine bills. I write a few checks a months from my law office, but pay most of those bills online.

I think I write a personal check once every month or two. Things like vehicle registration come to mind.

I write 2 a month. 1 for the water/sewer/trash and the other for my wife's car note (long story).

Unfortunately for my work and other business dealings have to write quite a few checks per month. It's one of my absolute least favorite things to do.

When I was documenting my 2nd check fraud many years ago I asked the LEO if there was any way to avoid another fraudulent check, he said "don't write checks". It was like a Henny Youngman joke but he was serious and correct.
