I've got a pretty high end build in 25-06 that I had originally planned to shoot factory through. I tried 7 or 8 different factory loads and never found anything that would shoot under an inch and a half, and most shot much worse. I finally broke down and started working on a reload and after much trial and error, I settled on H4831SC for the powder and Speer 120 gr BTSP for the bullet. I don't recall the exact powder charge, but it was at the upper end of what the Speer book listed. It's now a pretty consistent .75 MOA rifle, but I really think it should be better. I may play around with my seating depth after deer season and see if I can pull it in a bit more.

The ones I load for like 120gr bullets (Sierra, but no longer made) and a strong dose of IMR 4350

targets? varmints? deer? The purpose for the rifle determines what bullet(s) you should use....

For me I wouldnt load anything lighter than 100 grains. Seems like the slow end of the powders shines in that area. Old stand bys like H and IMR 4350 and 4831 seem to be good choices and several of the new IMR enduron powders 4451 and 7977 and 8133 look good on paper. Chances are your probably going to work with what you have or can find though.

In the wife's Tikka 25-06, Nosler 120 gr Bal. Tip with about 50-51 gr of RL 22 works great.

My favorite bullet for the 257WBY was the 110 gr Accubond, but it would work great in the 25-06

110 Accubond with H4831SC is where I would start in the 25-06.

I have experimented with probably 15 different powders and double that number of bullets.
4831 SC overall was the best powder and any good quality bullet in the 100~120 Gr range.
That said ... for hunting I actually use the Sierra 90 GK HP. it is very accurate and devastating on game.

+1 on the 110 grain Accubond. I pair it with H-1000 and get consistent 1/2-3/4 MOA performance out of a Rem. 700 ADL. I've wasted a couple of 200-250 lb pigs with that combo. They dropped in their tracks and bullets blew right through with good wound channels. Good luck.

Hornady 117gr SST over 53gr of IMR 4831. This load is a great general purpose load for Texas deer; I've never had a single one hit with this load take more than a single step.
