Don't know about you, BlondeHuntress, but I'll be gettin' my nails and toes done in Mossy Oak breakup this fall.

Is it hunting season yet? Personally, I take a gas grill and BBQ next to my stand. I invite the deer over for some roasted corn.

During football season I never hunt all day. Gotta check out the college football on Saturday afternoons!

LOL...I'm a transplant and have too many real parts so, unfortunately, I'll never be a "real" Dallas girl.

Similarly though, I think the only thing worse than a Dallas girl is a Dallas guy. What a bunch of frosty-haired, manicured, girly 'men' they have up here!

I am far from a girly man and I live in the Dallas area, hell I shave my head so no frost here. You must live downtown or in North Dallas to see all these frosty-haired specimens.

Now Blondehuntress...what do you know about it? You already inculded yourself in the ladies that have to run to the salon for a broken fingernail! AND YOU ARE TALKIN ABOUT US MEN?

So where do you ladies hunt anyway? the zoo?

Men just need to look manly, that's all! I won't tell you on here what steps my husband takes to groom himself but he takes care of himself well and still looks manly. Alot of Dallas men have lost their masculinity because they go too far.

And what do you want, a woman that looks like crud in deer camp?? I don't mind getting dirty and sweaty and smelly but I'm darn sure gonna start the day off clean and manicured! Okay, I did get a little embarressed last year when I was called out for putting lipstick on during the predawn hours of opening bow season, but I'm sure to do it again this year too!

During football season, I might take along a pocket radio and small headset and listen to a game. It really helps pass time during the middle part of the day. And the woods are so quiet, you can turn the volume down low enough so that you can hear the game and listen for movement at the same time.

Geez Louise... serious topic driven right into the ditch by the lady folk...

Back to the question at hand. Definately take a bottle of water or gatorade with a cap that can be recycled as a urinal. And this is Texas, so the only acceptable blind food is beef jerky, corn nuts, cheese crackers or vienna sausages. Anything else puts your man card at risk.

Back to the question at hand.

I usually take our snacks (cheese & crackers, peanut patties, etc) out of the original packaging and put in in sandwhich baggies instead as it cuts down on the noise when you're opening it.

Does anyone have a cot in their stand? I just put up a 6X5 stand and am thinking about taking a cot and setting it up in there and then on opening morning being in the stand at 4am and going back to sleep if I can....

Never had room for a cot, but I did build a stand chair out of a bucket seat from an old camero. Could hit the recline button and snooze until daylight. Don't hunt from box blinds anymore... but would do it again if the opportunity presented itself.

I hunt in my blind all day every time I hunt. I take plenty to snack on and some water. A good chair is a must as well. Put a remote on your feeder and that can give you something to play with during the day. I will sneak a nap from time to time.

Easy to install. Can buy from Cabelas, Bass Pro, Academy, Boss Buck, just about all of the standard retailers are carrying them.
