I've been playing with a friend's Wraith and would like to ask for a little help. Sitting in the middle of nowhere North Carolina I don't hunt hogs and most of my night time shooting is for coyotes. Even that is somewhat limited and It is hard to bite on a high priced thermal unit. My only complaint with the Wraith is the ir illuminator. I don't like the one that comes with it. I'm looking for a simple on/off model that gives max. light at one push. Any suggestions on make and model?

There are a lot of much better IR's out there but you aren't to find a really bright one that is an off/on push and only has max brightness. The reason is, a good IR, like the Sniper Hog Lights, or other brands are so bright that if you couldn't turn them down, you'd white everything out at 30-100 yards. The Sniper Hog Lights have a stero style knob on the tail cap so you can turn it up or down for the brightness, no push buttons and they work great. I know you might think that you want a simple off/on at full brightness only but if you get into any situation at all were you aren't looking 100+ yards with a really bright IR, you're going to blow out everything closer in front of you. Just my 2 cents!

On the SniperHog website, they sell a pressure switch with their lights that has two buttons, one for half-power, and one for full-power.

Sniper Hog Light 66 LRX isn't as large as the coyote cannon but fantastic! I can see over 600 yards with it.

I have have a Sniper Hog Light along my Wraith 2-16x. I agree that being able to adjust light works well in different situations/areas

I use a 940nm T50. It is 3x as bright as the Pulsar. You can buy it of eBay but they use 18650 batteries.

They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!
