Has anyone ever had their hunting dog stung with wasps/bees? I hunted Izzy for 14 years and never had an issue. My new hunting pup pointed a nest this past week and then lunged in and grabbed it. I only found one sting to the upper lip. It swelled for 20 minutes and was gone within the hour. I had benadryl on standby. It didn't seem to be an issue for her. I hope she learned her lesson.

My Dash has always hunted and killed them and defended me from them be it honey bees, bumble bees, or wasps. No telling how many times he has been stung and it only makes him more determined when they do sting him. He has had lips swell up like yours, but not always. And if it does, the swelling goes away soon after. What is odd is after one session with wal1809 getting collar stung during snake avoidance training, he is deathly scared of snakes and anything in the shape of a snake be it sticks, water hoses, cords, etc. Yet the more he gets stung by wasps, the more he goes to war with them. He is a goofy dog sometimes.

One of mine had slight swelling on the lip from her first wasp sting. It went away quickly, just like you described. She’s caught tons of them afterwards, and I have no idea if she’s been stung in the process, but does not have any reaction to them now.

I had a puppy get stung by a honeybee. His entire mouth, and face was swollen for days. Even after a shot from the vet.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

Had a GSP years ago with a swell snout. Assumed it was a wasp or yellow jacket in the water bucket.
